Seriously, the "I watched the fight again brigade deserves a thread of its own. & Im not just talking about this fight, Im talking about any fight.

Its such a cop-out to say "I watched the fight again & totally changed my mind" regarding any fight. How the **** can you disagree with your own brain?

 

Lul, I do that all the time, usually because I'm too drunk to credit the fight when I've watched it the first time.

 

Dirrell was too busy running, holding, complaining and falling down on canvas to throw many punches.

 

People need to score ring generalship. If you both throw and land equal shots then survival clinching means you lose the round. You are not fighting your fight and you are having to halt the action. Dirrell wouldn't clinch unless he had to and when he did clinch he was never in control. He wasn't turning Froch, stifling his attack etc It was a simple 'please don't hit me' clinch.

 

Theres Amir Khans style of negative fighting ansd then theres Andre dirells. Least Khan throws combinations!!! Direll spends more time running than he did Jabbing

 

I agree with what you say but could you replace "clinching" with "holding"?. Clinching is a legitimate tactic, holding, hugging and marching your opponent across the ring in some dodgy Calzaghe style tango move certainly is not. I find it strange that some of the people on here who are applauding Dirrells "win" are the same people who constantly criticised Hattons supposed holding, go figure.

 

Kessler thought Froch did enough to win and relishes the prospect of fighting Froch.
