Froch is NOWHERE near as technical or as proficient as Golovkin. Golovkin has the BOXING skills, and the knock out power to do whatever he pleases in the ring. Andre Ward had a very competitive fight against an INFERIOR boxer in Froch in the later rounds of their fight, Golovkin is ten times better than Froch, Andre Ward would try to outbox Golovkin and get embarrassed in the process. Andre Ward has NO knock out power. Even in the 168 pound division where the athletes are LARGER than Golovkin, GGG would still be top 2-3. Golovkin fits right in the 160 pound division, he isn't such a large guy to begin with.
Really have to be disgusted in how Froch handled this one. Used GGG as leverage to set up an easier path for himself. Did himself and the sport a disservice. Unless of course who have some slimey agenda at play or happen to be one of this sites cadre of faux personal financial advisors and accountants.
True, but its a good indication of talent level. Golovkin's style and work ethic has translated into the pros better than all the aforementioned as well.
Not totally dismissing his chances but he's yet to face a top level guy as a pro that's all ..But hey I hope he's successful if he does end up fighting Facing Froch .
If you're seriously comparing GGG to AA in any way other than a guy moving from MW to SMW, you're a fool.
all we've been hearing for months "Froch may retire" Decide already danm this is actually hurting his legacy. He better hope his last fight isn't the ginger, nt much glory in that
Your highly naive if you think everyone can make a smooth transition moving up in weight especially if they haven't been tested yet at the pro level !
I guess the other thread got deleted eh. Another case for GGG ducking Froch. Sick of that Golovkin guy, avoiding all good fighters!
More often than not it does, unless the boxer loses his motivation after making some decent money (as is the case with some Cuban boxers) or is a feather fisted joke who made an amateur career thanks to olympic corruption, which neither is the case for Golovkin. He will do just fine unless he's matched with someone ridiculously bigger (the likes of Kovalev, Stevenson)
I completely agree with that and made no argument with you on that account, moving divisions can be tough. In fact, read what I wrote, I said the only comparison you could make was just "some fighter" moving up from MW to SMW, which really has zero to do directly with AA. Any other comparison between GGG and AA is foolish, and so I said if you're making any OTHER comparisons, you're a fool. If your saying you weren't making any other comparisons, then we agree.
