Did Froch work to the body at all? I think Froch gave away the fight with his one dimensional game plan and lack of defense. You can't let you hands dangle down next to your knees against a guy like Kessler.

Thats a fair point but even if i had scored them even Kessler still won on my card by a point.

Great fight though and Froch probably would have took another SD in Notts

I gave Kessler 1, 2 and 3. IIRC it was because he was on the front foot, jabbing, and controlling the pace of the action. But Froch did well here at times, so I could understand either 2 or 3 going to Froch.

Like someone above, that would still have Kessler winning by two.

Agreed. Very close fight. I had Kessler winning by 2 rounds.

Ridiculous. Kessler gets more points, he wins. Case closed. Again, close fight, but it happens. Sometimes they go your way, sometimes they don't. IMO Froch was too content to simply keep Kessler at arms length with the jab. Meanwhile, Kessler kept pushing the fight, pushing the fight. I expected more Froch from Froch. When he threw combos, he was getting to Kessler and would have won the fight if he had done more of it, especially in the mid rounds. And as flawed as the fight was, Froch looked more skilled IMO.

In my opinion they both did enough to win. Could have been a draw.

it might well have been a draw but to not score a fight with hometown biase is naive. Froch summed it up well when he said he would have won it in Nottingham.

Draw would have been the best result as both fighters hurt each other and went at it hammer and tongs. Froch won the early rounds (but they were weak rounds) Kessler in the middle and Froch came back at the end and really laid a beating on Kessler until the final 30 secs when Kessler had a good flurry.

I had Kessler by 2 rounds but was giving him the close rounds due to hometown advantage.

Froch should have known that he needed to win it by 4 rounds at least to get a decison away from Home.

He was too lazy and will kick himself as he could have won the fight by just having on dominate round between 5-9.

115-113 Kessler at least, apart from Antonio Tarver showtime was riding Frochs dick

Utter bollocks, and if that had been the case it would have been another gift decision for Froch. Kessler won the fight, it was competetive but Kessler did more than enough to secure the win and where the fight took place has nothing to do with it. 117-111 was definitely too wide, but at the end of the day it makes no difference to what was the correct result.

How many threads are needed to desseminate your biased nonsense. Your going to need a lot of patience if Froch getting his ass kicked bothers you this much. It will happen many more times during the rest of his career.

Now go make a u tube propaganda film.

Kessler was the busier fighter,he kept coming forward and landed the better shots.I had him 2 up a the end. Some rounds were close but i think Kessler did enough to win.The 117 card was out of order.

    Agreed.

Tarver said it all when he heard Bernstein give Froch the fight. He just replied: "Wow!".

Look folks. Froch may have had the better moments. But they came in bursts, and the bursts usually had a few rounds between them.

If you're going to fight off the back foot, you have to CLEARLY establish that you're in control. Froch was hit, and hurt, way too often in many rounds to give the impression that the fight was going the way he wanted it to.

The vast majority of every round was spent in a jab war. Sometimes Froch got the better, sometimes it was Kessler. Number of punches isn't everything. Timing, counters, pop, effect, etc also play a role. Froch might touch Kessler's head a few times, but when Kessler interrupts him with a jab that stops Froch in his tracks, Kessler is establishing control.

Fights are not scored based on who lands more punches. They're basically scored by asking yourself "Who would I rather have been in that particular round?" And you want to be the guy who is hurting the other guy, or, failing that, you want to be the guy who is in control.

    Kessler won.

No. He has to win more rounds. Period. There is no rule saying the title holder gets close rounds.
