Hmmm your friends thoughts also crossed my mind. I just do not rate Dirrell that highly. I may be embarrassed by this comment. I was worried for Froch vs Pascal, I was worried for Froch vs Taylor but I'm just not worried for Froch vs Dirrell. Maybe this will come back to haunt me but I say it how I see it.

Hey Fleaman. What do you think of Rob Mccracken as a trainer? I think he's a fantastic trainer and great for Froch.

Honestly I think he's a great trainer. He's not afraid to be honest with Froch and he will bring him back to Earth.

I noticed Carl talked back to him at one points.

McCracken: You were winning the round and loaded up and got caught and he probably stole the round there.

Froch: Last ten I thought I'd give it a go.

(Look of dismay on Rob's face)

At the end of the day even a hater can see that McCracken gives a valid insight into what Froch is doing wrong and how he can right it. Whether he can (I assume he can otherwise Rob would play more to his strengths, he knows Froch than anyone) or will (more likely as Froch just wants a good scrap) employ them in the following rounds is more down to Froch IMO.

He seems a stubborn guy. If he can take a bit from McCracken and a bit of his own fighting spirit he can do well. McCracken will do even better with someone less proud than Froch (in the right attributes anyway, you don't want a bottler, but as the same time someone who doesn't need to get the last punch in and is content to stick and move, McCracken can encourage someone well to employ different tactics IMO)

I really don't know what goes on inside that training camp. Every round McCraken seems to be saying the things any sensible trainer would say: "Keep your hands up; block punches; parry punches etc." But Froch goes out, round after round, and neglects his defence, throws wild shots and leaves himself criminally open for a hammering. I don't know why he doesn't listen, and I don't know why McCraken hasn't lit a fire under his arse by now.

It's disappointing, because Froch has all the physical gifts to be much better than he is: good strength, a great chin and a big heart. But he throws it down the drain at times with his lacklustre tactics and silly attempts to imitate Roy Jones' hand positioning. If he learned to throw straighter punches, to jab more consistently, to keep his hands up and block shots, he could be a seriously world-class pressure fighter. As it is, I think he's waiting to be exposed. If Dirrell doesn't do it, Kessler certainly will.

Even as a Froch fan, these are all valid points.

Dirrell UD 12 Froch ... Froch has no chance ... Dirrell has all the advantages, and is a more complete boxer... has the advantage in speed and I wouldn't be surprised if he was able to hurt Froch. He will look like Pernell Whitaker against Froch who fights with his hands down, has little head movement, is slower than Dirrell, and isn't a good persuer as many are lead to believe ... if Taylor hadn't pooped out he would've had a nice UD and WBC belt on his hands.

Good point, I remember that too. In recent interviews however, I've noticed Froch pay more deference to McCracken. He said that vs Dirrell "he would let McCracken worry about the gameplan" and he would just concentrate on getting fit (or words to that effect) He also said that he would let McCracken tell him when it was time to hang up his gloves. McCracken attended the Froch vs Pascal fight after his mother died in hospital. I think that Froch repects that (he dedicated his fight vs Pascal to her) and respects Robs commitment to him. Thanks for your comments. Regards :good

    weak video ...

    bias video ...

Dirrell will destroy Froch and will make it looked easy ... Froch isn't more experienced ... he's fought 3 championship fights ... Dirrell has more experience ... he's had 100's of amateur fights ... been to the olympics, has seen every style imagineable ... i'm sure he'll be prepare to win easily on points.

No worries. McCracken is dedicated and trustworthy IMO; seems like a nice bloke and a genuine 'trainer for the future' (i.e after Froch he will continue to lead some fighters into the ABC Scene)

    Compared to Dirrell's...........NONE.

Froch went to the World championships.

Indeed he probably has seen most styles; but I can assure you it's a different matter without headguards and without pillows on your hands.

Again, you criticise Froch for being sloppy.......then you're a fan of Valero? :think

Again...................Valero? he was dropped AND stunned by Mosquera...........is he a higher calibre of fighter than, say Jermain Taylor? Or for that matter, Pascal, who has gone on to win a title at a higher weight?

I suppose you'll be saying 'Pitalua destroyed someone last week and Valero K.O'd him in two rounds'.

    Valero=Awful.

Froch may end up schooled. But it's clear who the superior fighter is at this stage. And if you don't like Froch for those reasons, why be a fan of Valero?

Dirrell went to the world championships as well ... and he was an olympian ... he has more international experience than Froch ... Froch is not a world beater ...

    Last time I checked Valero was 25-0 25 KO's and he's a two-division champion
