We keep being told we will see a different Froch this time and that he will be in a better mental state for this fight.

I (Like many of you) have watched Froch since he was an amateur.

He is probably the most nervous fighter I have ever seen.

He comes into every fight exactly the same (The first Kessler fight being the 1 exception IMO. I genuinley think he was affected by new baby and the cloud). The same nervous Froch will enter the ring on May 31st.

We are constantly pointed to the Abraham fight as an example of how Carl can box supremely. Abraham is a very very small Super Middleweight who is extremely limited and one dimensional. Anyone with size, stamina and decent ability can outbox him, this has been proved.

Everytime I go to a Froch fight he looks the same coming in to the ring, there will be no change this time. If anything he looks more rattled this time than last.

I'm not a Froch hater, in fact if you view my history on this site you will see quite the opposite.

This fight is great that it has got the average man in the pub talking about it. However all anyone can tell me when I ask 'how and why Froch wins the re-match' is that 'you will see a different Froch this time!'.

Really? When he has turned up exactly the same for the previous 34!!!

Imo stamina can be improved much easier than technique!!

I get what you're saying but I think it's more a mental thing.

First fight I honestly think Froch didnt believe Groves would be as good as he was aswell as getting sucked in by Groves jibes and got emotional, come fight night he wanted to just get in there and knock Groves out and it was going to be that easy.

Froch is always in a great condition, IMO he will have trained harder for this fight and he will be mentally ready without the emotion and be more controlled.

Groves fought brilliantly last time until he got tired and got tagged, he definately doesnt have the toughness or stamina that Froch has but if he's smart he could well win.

Froch usually finds a way to get to you though and if he does he doesnt let you go can Groves evade Froch for the whole 12 rounds, not sure!

I get the theory of Froch mentally preparing better.

But I guess what I was saying in a nutshell was.....

When have you ever seen a different Froch enter the ring?

He turns up exactly the same.

I make a slight exception for the first Kessler fight where a unique set of circumstances did seem to affect him a bit (Mainly he didn't seem as fit as normal).

I'm perfectly open to the fact Froch could win, but I dont think it will be a different Froch you seem climb through the ropes compared to the first fight.

which is why in their 2nd encounter kessler prepared to weather the storm for the 1st few rounds before taking advantage of a spent froch then ended up on the wrong end of a disciplined jab for 4 rounds so changed his gameplan.

we're unlikely to see him shaking off concussion for several rounds. besides, why does he have to change from a fight he won?

I think the outcome of the fight will depend on Groves's gameplan not Froch's. Froch will fight the same way he normally does, he can come to the ring fitter and more determined, but stylistically he will be the same. the key question is how will Groves will adapt. I personally think Groves should try to expel less energy at the start , try to nick as many early rounds as possible with his fast Jab, throw ones and two's and get out of there, saving energy if he does get into a slugging match at the end. If he uses the ring well enough, it would be hard for Froch to catch him I.e. Dirrell ( but with with out the complaining )

Froch is Froch, cant do anything to adapt to Groves's speed and slickness. If he tries to box Groves he'll get schooled, if he tries to put it on him he'll get beheaded with counters

Froch 'won' the fight in the same way Park Si-Hun won the Gold medal at the seol olympics with his 'Win' over Roy Jones Jr.

If you are just going to stick to 'The record books show......' then we have nothing to discuss.

Froch didn't win the fight. The fight was incorrectly stopped.

    You make a reasoned arguement.

    I can see that happening.

I don't think it will largely due to believing Groves will be more disciplined this time around. But I can certainly see that.

I disagree. He looked in far less trouble than against Kenny Anderson.

Froch was Knackered as well. Groves was still timing his shots well.

Just as likely that he was going to catch Froch.

Paddy may have given him the rocket he needed to be disciplined between rounds and then he may have boxed his way through it.

We will never know, but I don't accept to any degree he was finished.

If you think that was even close to a legit win you have no business discussing the rematch in a serious capacity
