The silly patriotism in boxing is gay.

I'm English, he got beaten by 2 points imo.

Froch did look very relaxed, I thought he was going to pull something off but he didn't do it and he was outboxed over the 12 rounds.

All this hypocrisy is hilarious, Dirrell got robbed in England. Froch lost a close fight in Denmark.

I thought Kessler won. I think Froch landed maybe 2-3 more really solid hits but Kessler rocked Froch worse with that short right than anything Froch landed on Kessler. And in terms of round by round scoring I also had it for Kessler. The Showtime commentators were split in their scoring. The judge with 117 for Kessler was definitely on crack.

In my opinion it was a very close fight that could have gone either way. Since it took place in Kessler's hometown you can't expect any other outcome. Not saying I agree with that but it's pretty common knowledge that you need a more convincing victory to win by decision on the road. Froch/Dirrell was in my opinion close (with the edge towards Dirrell) but not as close as Froch/Kessler, yet Froch got that decision because it was in his hometown. If you live by the sword, you die by it too.

EDIT: Froch saying that he could have won is BS. If he could have he would have. I think the biggest difference in this fight was all the right crosses Kessler landed to Froch's ribcage throughout the fight. Those looked painful. Froch normally has excellent conditioning, but I think those shots really affected Froch and are a major reason he couldn't hurt and finish Kessler. Those body shots were obviously part of Kessler's plan coming into the fight and they paid off big-time.

Kessler to Froch, "I am owning all of your bases".

i think if it was in nottingham, the roar of the crown would have drove froch on to a win, even if the crowd didn't have an effect on the judges.

I'm English but i think Froch lost it by a round or two. He was never going to take defeat easily, even if Kessler had boxed his head off for the full 12 round's he'd of came up with excuses

Blame the 5-6 ******s on here, mate. Froch would get loads of props for the fight if it wasn;t for these cry-babies saying it was a robbery. Froch obviously saw things scewed and he himself said it could have gone both ways. So even the most biased person can see it was no robbery.. except these cry-babies.

And that has of course hurt Froch a lot.

You are probably right. I just hope he comes out and says " I lost to the better man on the night, but I will be back stronger than ever".

The fight was so clean and a pride for boxing. The decision was spot on (Kessler winning on all three cards that is - one judge was off by a round or so imo. but that means nothing). All in all great propaganda for boxing and for Froch - so I hope he is a bit realistic once he assesses the fight in hindsight.

This is also far the most promising way for Carl to procede. If he goes into denial then he will not develop and is doing himself a disservice.

Most englishmen have Kessler by a round or two. The english are NOT biased ****s (although some are and we do have a couple of examples here on ESB - but that goes for all countries).

I know a loss is'nt a good thing in any case but i think it's come at the worst possible time for Froch. I thought from the start of the Super Six (and still think) that Abraham has the beating of Froch. If Froch loses 2 in a row, not only does it knock him outta' the competition, but what does it to do him mentally?
