Watching the Taylor and Pascal fights, it seems he's at his best maintaining range with the jab, allowing his opponent to come to him. When he tried to pressure and get in slugfests with Pascal and Taylor he didnt fair to well. Pascal was dominating the first fight until around round 7-8 when Froch's corner told him to box and he started utilizes his jab, at which time it looked like Pascal gassed.

I hear alot that Froch is going to force the fight with Dirrell, when thats never been his game. Infact he doesnt look too good when he tries to do it.

Pascal was an aggressive fighter with a granite chin himself, Dirrel doesn't have that chin, the exchanges that Pascal and Froch gave, either one of them would have KD someone else.
Froch forced the fight against Taylor in later rounds , who fights more like Dirrel, and looked good doing so.
I just see Dirrel being sparked, but, Dirrel could suprise me, I'd be stunned if Dirrel won, truly, im 95% Froch win.

This is a good point and one which will be answered in the Dirrell fight either way.

Taylor is a very good CP though and made Froch look terrible early on & Pascal though looked good early on could very well have been down to more Froch pacing himself for 12 & Pascal not. After all Pascal was the one who gassed; all the best fighters pace themselves.

but yes I think he can fight coming forwards but against slicker faster people it causes headaches for him and he has to use his endurance to overcome in those situations.

I wouldnt say Taylor fights like Dirrell. Dirrell is all about the jab, sticking and moving while switching from orthodox to southpaw. Taylor stands right infront of his man, and has been lamented throughout his career for not employing the jab enough.

Pascal was a bit weight drained and fought stupid. But yeah.. Froch does have a nifty long jab. He should work more off of it.

But this is the point I'm trying to make *if* Pascal lowered his work rate he would most likely have lost the early rounds wouldn't he because they were so close as it was?

Well, i mean more in terms of speed, and against Froch, he was moving around a lot more, utilising the ring and ''on his bike'' a lot, Dirrel will be like that but more so, from the few fights I seen of Dirrell, he is all over the ring... but the Henshaw fight, I can see Froch catching him like that, and if he does, Froch hits a hell of a lot more accurately and harder than Henshaw.

Especially the way he throws it, in which he leaves his chin exposed with his other arm nowhere near his body. But he has an extremely long reach, which makes it hard to get inside. It was extremely effective in the fight.

I've seen all Froch's fights, and its obvious that a lot of posters haven't!! Froch tucks his chin in tight between chest and shoulder (one of the first things i was taught as a 8 year old child) he may leave his chin exposed when he opens up and starts throwing his big shots, but anyone who has seen him in action (besides the Pascal and Taylor fights) will know only to well that he tucks his chin in tight when boxing off his jab.
Can he fight going forward ? i'd say he did a pretty good job for the last 1.20 of the Taylor fight. :good

He's gonna have to do it all fight long if he hopes to beat Dirrell.

FFS! Taylor gassed, Pascal gassed. Its funny how all of Froch's opponents gas. Maybe it has something to do with Froch....just a crazy thought. I'm sure Dirrell will be said to have gassed too after he caves under Frochs powerful shots and relentless pressure. Can you haters think of something else because this is getting tedious!

Relentless pressure. Something that Froch has never applied. He actually has a pretty low workrate, and rarely fights coming forwar.d
