I can't find it now. Not going to spend a lot of time on it, but that was the only article that made a claim that they had 'word'. Everything else was internet speculation.

Pavlik looked like **** in his last fight.

And it's also safe to say that Pavlik isn't that good at the higher weights.

Two limited fighters going at it, should be a good fight.

Ya -- most world champions are that way. They just look like utter **** when they make the number one mandatory contender cry on his stool.

Not sure if that was it or not. It has been a while. Still this does look like speculation. "An HBO spokesperson said they were contractually forbidden from releasing any information about the precise viewing figures in America."

And this comes from Calzaghe's lawyer? Mind if I add a grain of salt? :D

"Gareth Williams, lawyer for Calzaghe Promotions, was quick to point out that the 36-year-old still made a considerable profit. And, without having to pay a percentage of his purse to a promoter, it was more than he had received for any other fight in his illustrious career."

Again, I find it strange this is the exact figure he 'reportedly' turned down for fighting Pavlik. Sounds like it could have been a face save to me.

And now "The Cobra" joins in making Kelly the gold standard!

    From the front page: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=19571&more=1

“I’m on top of the world right now and I intend on staying there. There’s some really big fights out there for me now and I’m ready for any of them be it Kelly Pavlik or even Joe Calzaghe if he can be bothered getting out of his armchair.

First person he calls out is someone from 160 as if there are no good opponents at 168? :rofl

Yep -- Froch called out a middleweight and a retired guy. Funny thing is, he would lose badly to both. Calzaghe by humiliation. Pavlik by brutal beating.

And for Joe to get second billing in that sentence? That is HUGE for Froch. :rofl

8lbs isnt an issue in the slightest. Pavliks problem was that B Hop was in the other corner. Both Pavlik and Froch are simple sluggers. Both can be easily outboxed. Unfortunately Taylor wasnt up to the job because routinely he gasses in the championship rounds. Thats a bad trait when championship fights are fought over the full 12.

They ought to just do Abraham vs Pavlik at 168 since they both have a hard time making weight. Who gives a **** about the dumb ass titles.

I don't think it means Pavlik would have won, but apparently he was very sick going into the Hops fight. It may have made some difference, or you might think it is BS.

Fighters make excuses. Pavlik made the usual excuses. Bottom line is he IS a simple slugger. Hop did the unthinkable with such a shutout BUT it was very clear Pavlik can be easily outboxed and put out of his rhythm because he's a basic 1 2 guy.

Uh -- excuse me pal, but Pavlik never said **** about the illness or the injury. The facts were reported by Thomas Hausser who was in the Pavlik locker room before and after the fight.
