I'm going the Froch/Groves card and I'm massively disappointed with the undercard. We have:

    Froch vs Groves
    DeGale vs Gonzales
    Mitchell vs Maduma
    McDonnell vs Rachawat
    Joshua vs Legg
    Yafai vs TBA

I'm obviously happy with Froch vs Groves and Mitchell always gives a good showing but Joshua vs Legg is going to be a blowout I suspect, would have liked to seen him tested against somebody of the calibre of Michael Sprott. DeGale is boring to watch. McDonnell is the most boring watch in British boxing and Yafai (Kal's younger brother) is just to make up the numbers.

Wanted to see some better scraps than McDonnell and DeGale.

    Thoughts...

degale vs gonzalez is decent no? he is top 3 SMW in britain so it makes sense to put him on the card

I just find DeGale lazy and boring to watch. I hope Gonzalez comes to box and put on a show. Force him into it.

Looking at the Matchroom Stable, there are boxers like the Smith Brothers (Callum, Paul and Stephen), Rocky Fielding, Anthony Crolla etc who could all fight on the card but they're ticket sellers so I think that's why he's stacked the card with those he (he being Eddie Hearn) has

I dont think its a bad card, but we dont get the big PPVs of the 90s anymore.
I think DeGale/Gonzalez is a good match up and there is a 2nd world title fight.
    Its not bad

Yeah it's good on paper i.e world titles etc. but the fights made don't appeal. Not exciting enough

Maybe if there was Frampton/Martinez rematch with Martinez title on the line. Would that appeal more to you?

To be honest I am pretty disappointed with the card. The Joshua fight is pretty pointless and is arguably a step backwards. I know he's a relative novice but it's nice to see amateur standouts not matched with complete no-hopers. The Degale vs Gonzales is potentially significant in terms of the winner possibly facing the winner of the main event. But Degale is/has been fairly consistently boring to watch for a while now.

The Wba paper title being on the line for McDonnell and Rachawat doesn't really make it any more of an exciting fight for me either. Also McDonnell is a feather fisted bore. The best bits of his fights is watching his gigantic ears flap about in the slow mo replays when he gets hit.

The Mitchell vs Maduma fight will probably be quite fun but it really shouldn't be the 2nd best fight on paper on what is supposed to be such a significant card. So yeah I can't help but be disappointed by what's on offer, especially considering that the ppv price has gone up to cash in on the occasion.

Considering the amount of revenue the event will generate it's a bit of a let down. It's like a DVD, the event is Froch Groves, everything else is just bonus footage.

Hahahaha exactly this his highlights are him being punched.

But the whole card is disappointing. I think it's because individually none of them would make much money headlining their own show. Mitchell has something to prove, Joshua is too early on in his career, McDonnell is a bore and can't sell out a leisure centre and DeGale struggles with the City Academy Sports Centre.

They're all undercard fighters but not on a card of such significance. The fights they're involved in may lead to greater things but these fights now don't get me excited.

And yes, to the earlier comment I would love to see a Frampton/Martinez rematch but Frampton is with ****** now

Another thing is this is being televised on HBO - I would move Joshua up the bill to get him some stateside recognition but McDonnell and DeGale being televised over there has the potential to embarass us al
