Canelo has beat: Lara, Trout, Cotto, Kirkland, Angulo, Khan and Mosley. GGG has beat: Murray, Macklin, Lemiuex, Geale and Rubio. Canelo is miles ahead of GGG. It isn't even close.
Yet when Canelo was ordered to fight GGG he surrended his belt and ran a mile. :good You're well known for hating white Eastern Europeans.
Depends how you score P4P lists. GGG has demolished everything in front of him, whereas a large section of this forum thinks Lara beat Canelo (plus he got schooled by Floyd) and barely s****ed past Trout. You're going to count Khan and that version of Mosley as serious wins? I can't personally. Add that to the fact he has come in overweight before because he's clearly in a division he is too big for, then it cheapens it even more. Like I said though, depends how you score P4P. Purely on resume alone, then you're right absolutely. If you're doing it on how the fights have gone and the eye test, then not at all.
For me Govolkin is the better p4p but most people seem to go mainly by resume. Canelo has a better resume.
Fair enough but going by the eye test Canelo looks just as good as GGG when facing gatekeepers and C level guys. He dominates Murray and Stevens level guys just like GGG does.
It all mostly depends on how you rate the people they've faced I suppose. Out of interest, who would you back in a fight at 160?
a lot rests on 3g's knockout of danny geale and lemieux, these apart hes done nothing at world level. Canelo has done more. that said canelo didnt seem interested in facing 3g. there are two sides to the story. And 3g has unified and defended his unified title.
I think he has a chance. Makes the fact his handlers won't let him anywhere near him all the more frustrating.
Froch has a vested interest here though as GGG was someone he was potentially going to fight before he decided to retire.
