The british TV never gave froch any airtime! maybe becuse of the rivalry with Calzaghe, he was alway running his mouth, now he fights abroad and has more American Fans etc, than the british! its like they adopted him as there own, btw froch has Polish Ancestry, maybe thats the case,:?

I don't know but i'm English and i'm a fan. It's atrocious he hasn't had the exposure in Britain his fights have deserved. It's the British boxing publics loss. Let's hope they don't leave it too late with him, he as arguably already better as a fighter and in achievement than Haye or Khan.
It's funny because the BBC promoted him heavily when he was younger, then they pulled the plug on Boxing and he was left in the wilderness a bit. Then came his classic fight with Pascal on ITV, amazingly there were'nt impressed enough to make him a permanent deal. There are rumours recently that ITV are thinking about throwing some money back into boxing, so that could be promising if true. Hopefully Sky and Adam Smith see sense and get 'The Cobra' fighting on sky soon.
Like i said it is a joke he has been ignored over the last 3 years.

Nottingham is probably the only place in Britain where 1 in 10 people know who Carl Froch is

Froch issues with popularity has always been his promoter, Mick Hennessy, who did very little to make him marketable. Sure, he got Froch the tough fights but how hard was that considering Froch is genuine world class? He wasn't able to secure a TV deal and that's his biggest flaw, which ultimately hurt Froch.

I suppose it works both ways though because had Froch been with Warren, it's hard to imagine such a long list of great opposition. Hennessy's failure to make Froch more marketable meant he had to fight big names to make significant money. Unlike many Frank Warren fighters, Froch had to do it the hard way, meaning he sacrificed money for legacy. Given the type of personality he has, he isn't going to blow his money away, so I'm sure in 30 years he'll only be slightly aggrieved he didn't make more money because he'll have a proper, genuine legacy instead. It's not a bad swap.

I do hope Froch can make more money though. He deserve it, much like Katsidis, Marquez, Vazquez and so on, do.

I'm a big fan since the Pascal fight. He'd been on my radar for some time before that but always got on my tits constantly calling Calzaghe out when he'd not achieved anything to warrant a match-up. He should be an example to all boxers of every nationality tbh, he doesn't know what the 'soft' option is.

Even Bute has more fans in England than Froch does.

Most british boxing fans love Froch, the reason he fights abroad is that he has been contractually bound to as part of the super six. The reason he has not caught on with the casuals or got on sky has purely been down to his fat lazy arse promoter, rumour is that he has ditched him. Hopefully this is true.

Englishmen love their boxing and know quality when they see it. Bute would sell more seats than Froch in any other place in England except for Nottingham. :deal:thumbsup
