Froch-Groves captured the publics imagination in a way the Kessler rivalry never could. Matchroom, Sky and Froch tried desperately to build the second Kessler fight as his and British boxings defining event. What resulted was closer to an exhibition, albeit a bruising one. Frochs insistence on dismissing the 'chump' Groves credentials and chances, while often comparing him to Kessler, in the build up only made what occurred on the night, stoppage and all, that more magical. Groves is to Froch what Eubank was to Benn. The sooner he accepts this the better for all involved.
