:good Nice verbal abuse from the cobra. Love Calzaghe but he fought a few well picked opponents and split. Froch takes the risks and prevails.

Nah man calzaghe tried so many times to fight the big guns but he name wasnt big enough. He almost had a fight arranged with hopkins but hopkins pulled out when he realised the money isnt on the cards

Calzaghe was at his best at around 2000 till about 2003

He even was a strong puncher but he was an injury prone fighter, he hands were ****ed, he broke both hands around 2-3 times each in around 5-6 years which left him with now power. plus he was on the decline from around 2004, losing speed and movement by the year

he retired at the right time, he beat one good boxer and one world class boxer and left because again he could only fight once every 5 months due to the injuries and was declining as i said

roy jones should have done what calzaghe did but didnt and look at the **** he gets now

Froch would be Lacy'ed. Well not quite, but something like it. He would get beaten badly. Kessler is much faster and only managed to catch Calzaghe a few times with flush shots. Froch would catch him too as everyone does with Joe, but i'm not sure it would too much damage. His power is vastly overrated (i hate that word, but in this case i find it to be true)

:patsch Are you for real? Calzaghe tried to make fights with the big guns? SERIOUSLY? You really think that? Have you been living in a shell for all those years Calzaghe was feeding on tomato cans for the WBOgus?

I wouldnt call calzaghe a liar, yes he did ask his promoter warren to make the fights, and he almost did with fighters like hopkins in 2002 but that fell through.

If he was promoted by someone better at the time then he would have made the big fights sooner

Calzaghe wouldn't get on the plane, everyone knows that. Warren would of made more money taking him stateside you idiot on SBO, not fighting cans at Cardiff Ice Rink.

I think Calzaghe was a much better fighter than Froch will ever be but at the end of the day it looks like Froch will have fought a lot better opposition when he hangs up his gloves. The only difference being Froch will have a couple of losses on his record but can be very proud that he seeked out and fought the best in their primes.

i like both but calzaghe just isn't good at talking

if hopkins told froch he would never lose to a white boy you know froch would come back with something wittier than "well you're gonna lose".

No. He's not in a shell. You are. Your incomplete posts show your a newbie and an armchair fan. Yes. Joe has tried to make big fights.
In fact in 2002, All hardcore boxing fans were treated to a link of a reliable source that PROVED that hopkins priced himself out of a fight with joe after his people accepted an offer from frank warren. So, no. He doesn't THINK that, he KNOWS it. Something cassies like you don't know.

Listen you blithering idiot. There were lots of fights for Calz to make other than Hopkins (and let's see this reliable source please). Joe was fighting fighters who weren't even in the top 50 fight after fight, that is a fact.

"He wouldn't get on a plane. He said he had a fear of flying. Yet I can remember after one fight he flew to the West Indies for a holiday! One time he was supposed to do a press thing in the States and at the airport, he tried to get out of flying. He said: 'This is not a jumbo jet, I'm not getting on it.' I said: 'What are you, an aviation expert? It's a plane, for God's sake.' I put him on a jumbo. Once he got there, brilliant. All the flying was just bull****."

"I took Ricky Hatton to America and I also tried to do the same with Joe Calzaghe, but he wouldn't get on a plane."

"I tried to get Joe but he wouldn't get on the plane, you can ask the Showtime head"

That's what counts for me, Froch ducks no one and when/if he loses he will still duck no one because that's what real fighters do.
