According to Roach Pascal told him that Kovalev's power was overwhelming.

Froch always had great power but I think Froch also improved quite a bit with his accuracy as years went by.

Pascal was in his prime when he faced Froch, so that makes sense.

I really hope Pascal retires. He's already sounds punch drunk. Doctors should take away Pascal's boxing license. They took away Margarito's after Pac crushed his eye buts its ok for Pascal to let his head get caved in.

If Pascal isn't lying because he hates Kovalev and telling the truth perhaps age is the key ...

Terrible ****ogy, I know, but go with it

When you are young and go out drinking you can knock back multiple pints, shots and whatever at Uni and be out until 4am and be up the next morning for lectures at 9am and playing sports at midday. You know at the time the shots are hurting but your resistance levels and recovery are insane - you almost feel superhuman.

At 35 you can have 5 pints after work and be home by 1am. But feel like the world is ending the next day - Even though at the time those 5 pints don't feel like they are having much effect.

Perhaps this is how Pascal judges Froch hits harder even though Kovalev had more effect??

Could be , but more likely it's just residual ass-whoop talking.

Does Danny Williams hit harder than Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield, Frank Bruno, Razor Ruddock etc?

Because he inflicted more concussive damage to Tyson than they did!

But I expect Tyson wouldn't say Danny Williams was the hardest puncher he's faced ...

It's just Tyson faced him at a more advanced age and his ability to take punishment had been reduced. It doesnt mean that Williams punches felt the hardest. So if Pascal said Froch hits the hardest, then he probably does/did. We have to accept that. Only Pascal knows himself. We can all remember the most pain we have ever felt!! And Pascal was on his feet all 15 rounds vs Kovalev (so no memory loss talking)

And if Pascal thought Kovalev was the hardest puncher he'd faced in his life bar none and then some ... Why did he chase a rematch?!?

Williams did not, is this a troll?

Tyson hurt his leg and quit. After 25 unanswered punches, he got knocked into the ropes, and just sat there. The camera in his face, he is clearly not concussed or out of it as he was against Douglas, Holyfield, and Lewis. Williams not known for being an elite hitter and his punches clearly didn't hurt Tyson.

Kov is the only man to drop and stop Pascal. Nobody has visibly hurt him as badly with single punches. Kov is a heavy hitter.

Easy to see why one would believe Tyson and not Pascal.

:patsch Froch told Pascal he'd give him rematch and never gave it to him. Pascal has wanted it since the first fight.

The Cobra added: "He's asked me for a rematch and I've told him if it makes sense we'll do it.

    "He's a light-heavyweight now but I'm 32 and I'll soon be putting on a few pounds.

"When I've done what I want to at super-middleweight there will be nothing stopping me moving up.

"Then I can give Pascal the fight both he and the fans crave.

"The only loss on his record has come from me so I know he wants to avenge it — and I'll definitely give him the chance."

"To be honest with you, [after Kovalev] I would love to get Carl Froch. I went to England in 2008 and I lost a close decision to Carl Froch. If I can't get Carl Froch, I would love to fight Bernard Hopkins. But right now my target is Kovalev, I never think ahead," Pascal said.

Pascal became a star in England after his duel with Carl Froch on December 6, 2008 in Nottingham, where the latter won. The English boxer promised a rematch if the Haitian champion could win the Super Six. Michel says, “Remember that Jean had just had a shoulder injury and that he was not working with Pedro Díaz for that fight.” He trusts that the Port-au-Prince native has greatly improved since then and given a rematch, “Jean will demolish Froch.” Jean Pascal (1m89) has a record of 25 victories, including 16 before the time limit.

On whether he is interested in having a rematch against the only man who beat him, Carl Froch:

“Yeah, of course I want that rematch. Carl Froch is the only guy who beat me. We had a great fight and we had shake hands on that. So I said if he’s still champion or I’m still champion we’re going to fight again in Montreal. So I’m still champion and I still want that fight. If he still wants that fight, we can make it happen because that’s going to be a great war.”

They had a gentleman's agreement on it.
