well yes but still I feel fame is to do with being in hall of fame, juts my personal view and interpretation. McGuigan was famous for beating an absolute BEAST of a fighter, didn't matter that he turned crap afterwards, he would always be remembered for that freakish performance against Espinosa. kinda like honeyghan. I wonder he must be in HoF.
He has never been the best fighter in his division and when he doesn't have home field advantage he loses against the better fighters in his division. I say no.
Only massively nosed boxer to ever do anything of note ? I am struggling to think of another boxer that went far with such a massive hooter ?
What about fighting in front of 80000 fans and wins over Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Bute and Groves.
:good if gatti gets in then I guess there's a case for froch but then Kessler also comes into the picture...
yeah its what a real man does. but lets not lose sight of the fact that all good fighters used to strive for resumes like this. I am not ignoring that froch won these fights, it carries something more than joe calzaghe's entry.
Kessler and taylor are the only names on that list that add to his case, and as the poster above said, froch (like Kessler) has never even been the best in his division you could certainly argue that he deserves a shot based on the 'gatti clause', but then you have to consider Kessler too...
you are dreaming if you think froch deserves HOF status before calzaghe what is it that you have against calzaghe that you can't see past? it isn't his achievements at SMW
joes already in, isn't he? who needs dreaming? damn right it isn't his acheivements at smw, fighting only 1 or 2 really good opponents in that entire smw career. thanks for being so honest dude, credit to you for not being cowardzaghe in your views. and from a biased joe cal fan no less, so the truth must be even worse for joe.
