“Taylor says he is going to take me into deep waters, but I can swim. I like it when opponents come forward and say stuff like that… I’m sure he is prepared to fight and I expect to see a lot of movement, but I can adapt to any style. More than anything I box and move and love to counter-punch. I am looking for 12 rounds, in the trenches, going blow-to-blow. I hope he is a very good swimmer."

"Obviously, it is correct that American fans don’t know me. But I am a boxing superstar, which is why I am coming to fight on American soil on SHOWTIME. If British fighters want to become big stars, they definitely need to go to America. It took Joe Calzaghe 10-12 years to go there and make a name for himself. (But) For me, as a fighter, I need to do this (now). I am 31 and my best years are now. I could stay in England and fight mandatory defenses, but I want to prove to the boxing press and America that I mean business and that I am the real deal. I am the defending WBC champ. I’ve never had a hard fight, or struggled. I’m not sure if Taylor moved up because he can’t make the weight at 160. But I am fit and the stronger fighter. He is in for a surprise."

"I don’t want to sound bigheaded, but I can’t see Taylor going the distance with me. I’ve been training too hard. He was one of the best middleweights and junior middles, but he fought small men who wouldn't go two or three rounds with me. I don’t want to disrespect Taylor, but I can’t imagine him doing more than he showed against Jeff Lacy, a fight I turned off after seven rounds."

if jermain taylor were the fighter he used to be, froch would be stewed and need at least a few more fights against ever-better opposition to be ready for taylor. but, as it is, taylor isn't taylor anymore, not in the sense he was when hbo was banking on him emerging as a long term superstar. sadly, at this point, if froch can hurt him early, which he has the power, yes, and the skill, maybe, to do, froch can get him out of there or hurt him enough to discourage the kind of clean, articulate boxing in which taylor's chances are completely invested at this seemingly unnaturally early late hour in his career.

froch hasn't done **** and is gonna lose this fight against his only above C level opposition. Taylor has 2 W's against B Hop and wins over a slew of worthy challengers,

Can't help it but I like Froch, but Taylor will box his shorts off.
Anyway Kessler will smack them both.

If he wins this fight then yes he will be a star.As it stands he is only famous in Nottingham and a defeat will ensure it stays that way.

im slowly becoming a froch fan, everytime that man decides to talk, i end up laughing.

he just talks the way, a fighter should. There is no if´s or but´s. The HUGE self-confidence and the humorous comments, certainly brings more entertainment.

I don't think I've ever seen a Carl Froch interview where he hasn't mentioned Joe Calzaghe.

"So Carl, what are your hobbies outside boxing?"

"Well, I like to paint in my spare time, I sometimes go fishing with my mates. You know, Joe Calzaghe can't fish. It took him 3 years to catch his first trout."

:lol:Thats the only thing about him that I find slightly annoying.:lol:He has dropped that recently though and on Bunceys show recently he said good postive things about Calzaghe with regards to his retirement.

Froch doesn't need Calzaghe he can make a name for himself without him.Taylor is a good starting point. He mentioned a fight with Bute aswell if he wins and then there is always Kessler
