    Hi -

I take pride in my city's ability to murder people. It is a badge of honor to live in welfare. It is awesome that spousal abuse is common.

Because without these great stats, I would not be able to show off in the internet how "tough" my city is.

    - proud American

Socioeconomic factors throughout history have made boxing a sport than largely attracts poor kids to the sport, but a rough background cannot make up for superior talent and skills.

Iran Barkley grew up in projects in the South Bronx (he still lives there) and was a gang member. James Toney grew up in the small college town of Ann Arbor. Muhammad Ali grew up in an okay area. George Foreman was a mugger on the streets of Houston's Fifth Ward.

You saw what happened when they fought.

I honestly do not understand why Froch would feel the need for some sort of "street creds." Even a die-hard hater like me acknowledges his abilty to win fights on shear toughness.

On the other hand, I honestly believe that "on the street" Froch would be totally out of his element, and in over his head, if the **** hit the fan.

For **** sake the guy is such a ****.

So his dad was strict and he came from a council estate and had a couple of fights in school. Same as millions of people living in the UK these days. :-(

I was just thinking how many times I got my bike stolen. It was just a natural part of life. You left your bike outside unlocked, its gonna get taken. Left your basketball outside, its gonna get taken. Hell our car got broken into 3 times.

I dont think I'd ever mention that if I got asked how tough my neighborhood was though, because in comparison to other places, it wasnt.
