Froch - I don't need to give Groves rematch

We can play all the games in the world, it doesn't chance the fact that groves was robbed on saturday night and that wasn't down to incompetence. The truth is if carl walks away now, his credibility for his career should be intact. But the reason he walked away was simply because groves has the beating of him and he knows it, thats the simple truth of the matter. Doesn't matter how froch or his fans try to spin it. And thats acceptable at 36 years of age after a hard career but froch's lies and froch's fans lies are rightfully being pointed out which some are then putting down to giving him stick, Whats more worrying is yet again the cheating is brushed under the carpet! Shame on the minority of froch fans for trying to justify it , boxings should be better than that.

 

Froch has lost half his fanbase in the last week with his deluded claptrap. What a twerp.

 

well all I can say is i thought Froch was going to walk through him I thought Groves had a shaky chin.

But, I have to apologize to George, you were totally brilliant, and showed heart and superb chin and fighting ability and total class as a man after the fight. well done

 

Did you see the punches Froch took in the fight? Sickening heavy blows. Unreal punishment and he kept going! Yet you call him a pussi. Show some respect man dear!!!! I think it was a stinking stoppage and a rematch or retirement are the only credible options, but a boxers ego means a lot and maybe he's talking himself into believing this silly chat so he goes into a rematch confidently.
I'm sure the rematch will happen, it all boils down to money and there's far too much to be made here for it not to happen.

 

You obviously never read the article. He said he would fight Groves.

He also said it was stopped too early and he would have wanted to finish Groves properly.

 

The sooner this trash leaves the sport the better.

I don't get the Calzaghe criticism, if that fight had been made then Froch's career would have been over before it began.

 

He phrased it in such a way that it's clear he wants no part of Groves. There doesn't appear to be the heart or will there.

 

Froch will always be labelled the man that avoided George Groves if he retires on the back of this,everything hes accomplished will have all been for nothing.I dont think he'll want to leave it like that,the rematch definitely happens imo.

 

I personally think he wants the ward fight next and fair play to him if he thinks he can avenge that, I'd like to see the groves rematch like everyone else but I don't think he will be remembered for ducking groves if it doesn't. Froch should have been more dignified afterwards but if you've had someone in your ear for ten weeks asking if you're going to cry on tv and things like that would you really want to give him credit? Amazing fight though and it's a massive shame we are talking about the ref rather than the performances of the two of them.

 

Froch should call it a day, his chin is taking too many punches and his reactions are slowing down too much now.

Both Ward or Groves beat him, Froch has always been open down the middle and these guys know that but his reactions are even more shocking now and he cant move or slip them shots.

 

The stoppage of this fight looks softer after every viewing!

Terrible decision.

Rematch must happen.

 

This was my favourite part - "I took the victory from him by being the warrior and the strong ironman that I am".

He is such a cringeworthy bell these days. I used to be a big fan but it's hard to back him when he has become so unlikeable. I watched the post fight ringside interview through the cracks in my fingers. Unbearable viewing and he just kept digging deeper and deeper.

 

Questioning Froch on heart and will is absolutely the one thing you can't criticize him on after the fight.

 

I think Froch is entitled to his opinion to be honest, I think he has earned the right. The double standards on this Forum is unbelievable to be honest considering its for boxing fans.

I dont really care what Froch says in a interview to be honest and based on the fact he is a sportsman I judge him on performance. That was a massive shot in the first and full marks to George Groves. With the way some of your guys are going on you would have thought Froch got hit with a soft jab and took a dive, not got straight up and took a beating for 7 rounds before stopping Groves. Yes we all know it was stopped early but thats not Frochs fault is it ?

Why with the hate how many people here can say there world level at anything other than talking bollocks ? For me Froch is a fighting champion takes on whoever and where ever and this has earnt my respect.

Are Frochs comments any worst than Khan trying to tell us he has earnt the right to face floyd ? or any other other fighters comments leading up to or after a fight ?

I enjoyed the fight, thought it was cracking well done to Froch and Groves imo both of there stock should be going up not just Groves
