There are some fighters that need hometown advantage with the judges, the ref, the trained crowds, and bias commentators and there are some that doesn't need the advantages. Froch needs it at the top level.
Ward was a clear winner,and i'm pretty sure the outcome would be the same in a rematch,but i love some of the ridiculous comments in these threads. Froch shouldn't get a rematch,because Ward already beat him convincingly ? Kessler should get a rematch first,because his loss was controversial ? Home cooking only happens in the UK ? etc etc.
as much as i like Froch, i can never see him beating Ward, home or away. in fact i can see Ward retiring undefeated; he's already ruled himself out of all competition at 168. moving up to 175 would yield the same results. he's a gifted fighter who has beaten everyone of note in his range, not many genuine challenges left for him- even less that are willing to step in the ring with him.
