It wasn't close but if the official judges had it by 2 or so rounds then I would have tried to blag it like Froch did too

You're forgetting that Froch was like this after the Kessler fight too. It's his way of dealing with a loss - but he never disrespects his opponent, he gave both Ward and Kessler their props.
He's a fighter, he has a different mindset than the average guy. If you say that is unrealistic or delusional then so be it, the alternatives are the journeymen of the sport, or the has beens. Or bottom of the heap the talkers never beens/ gossiping fishwives (internet message board posters).

    this...^

i'm happy the guy is still in it and wanting to fight the best, but simply put, he's not on that level. he's a good fighter, just not great. Ward beat him down embarrasingly, it crushed me, but i had to give Ward his props, he destroyed Froch 12-0...

I think Bute will do the same, again Froch ain't on that level, he's tough as nails and a true warrior willing to fight anyone anywhere, but he will never beat the top guys...

Froch is a gutsy guy and I wanted him to win the fight, but he was thoroughly outclassed.

Ward kicked his ass, but at least Froch made a fight out of it. You could see on Wards face afterwards that he took some good punches.

ward 118-110, froch got schooled and he knows it, I still think highly of him when it comes to being brave, he deserves a lot of credit for that in the current state of the game.

Both are elite fighters but Ward is simply better. Froch is the #2 and Ward is #1. Froch will beat Bute.

I'm one of the biggest Froch fans here, and trust me buddy; he won't beat Bute.

He lost every round on my scorecard. He wasn't in the fight for more than a minute.

    He most definitely was outclassed.

Say Froch throws lots of combos, but hits leather or air for the most part.

Do you not think there's a chance the judges give him the nod in England if it goes 12 rds?

I actually sat and thought about this fight, and the conclusion I came too is that Bute will stop Froch. :-(

I think Froch peaked in the Super Six, he retained his physical gifts into his early 30's, and he started to employ some Boxing skills and utalise his physical advantages. I think Froch put everything into the tournament and won't fight at that same level of performance again. His age is over-looked due to his conditioning, but it catches up with everyone and Carl didn't have bundles of speed in the first place.

Bute will win because he punches shorter and faster, I don't think for a second that he can crack Froch's chin, but I do think that he'll have success if he goes to the body.

Really am a huge Carl Froch fan, but I think his time was during the last few years, and he'll fade from this point out. May 5th if it's still happening will give us a better indication.

As you asked, if the fight does go 12 rounds, I think Bute will get the decision if he's earned it, considering he won't be on his bike like Dirrell was.
Like any home town, a few swing rounds will go to Froch.

    So... 116-112 kind of decision?

I have the hardest time figuring out why I was previously calling for a late Bute TKO... I don't think Bute is going to stop him.

Was watching Froch-Kessler the other day, also watched Froch-Dirrell not too long ago. I'm a huge Bute fan, but I have trouble picturing his punching power being THAT much higher than Kessler or Dirrell (who KD Abraham). Carl will be preparing mainly for hits to the body, and as you stated he's got a tremendous chin.

I believe there's a fair chance Bute wins 8-9 rounds (as opposed to "dominate over 12 rounds"), and the kicker here is that a draw or Froch SD is possible IMO. Whatever, this would just make both of them more money going for the rematch in Canada - which, with Larouche being the mastermind he is (so underrated), Bute would win by wide UD.

I'm just saying this could indeed be a 2-fight deal after all. :p

I think this is a pretty good analysis m/f.
