Froch, a former world amateur star, believes the division’s top three elite fighters are in action next month when he takes on Reid a week after Calzaghe-Kessler in Cardiff on November 3.

“The three best super-middleweights in the world are in action within a week of each other in Britain and I should face the winner of Calzaghe-Kessler early next year,” said Froch.

“I would stop either of Berrio or Bute, but it’s the WBC title and either Calzaghe or Kessler who I am going for.

“I stopped Henry Porras in eight rounds two years ago, someone who had knocked out Berrio. In my last fight I utterly destroyed Sergey Tatevosyan, who Lucian Bute had to go to points with two months earlier.

“So the stats say it all. Lucian Bute is not a massive puncher and has not been hit by someone like me yet.

“Tatevosyan told me after our fight I’m better and stronger than Lucian Bute and I wouldn’t be too worried about fighting him or Berrio.

“Kessler and Calzaghe would be tough fights for me and Lucian Bute or Berrio are not in the same league. I would fancy I would knock either of Berrio or Bute out.

“I would fancy my chances strongly against either of Calzaghe or Kessler too, and am looking forward to that fight being made next year. Beating Reid will be a stepping stone to a major world title fight and he will be another impressive name on my record.”

That guy is so full of **** it's hard to believe. I have a hundred times more respect for bute, who just fights, steps up his level of competition fast.
Much more likeable than Froch, who's so far more busy telling us how good he is rather than showing it.
Bute is fighting for a major title aged what? 25?
Froch is 30 and have done nothing.

I'd REALLY like to see the crap beaten out of him. But even more i'd like to see the loudmouth piece of **** completely sidelined and ignored. I'd LOVE it if all his selfpromoting drivel achieved absolutely nothing and the shots continued to be given to ppl with actual talent who shows us how good they are rather than proclaim themselves rulers of the world before having left the sandbox.

If it hadn't been for this article, the Berrio v. Bute fight would not even have been mentioned on the ESB front page...

    Yeah - that's exactly what i hate.
The BRITISH boxing press gives him loads of attention whenever he opens his mouth. NOONE else gives the **** untill he shows us something. But we still have to listen to the drivel that comes from UK pressand fans who love buying into the BS.

Just because it's shouted out doesn't make it any more right.

BTW Mads Larsen beats him easy.

I hope Froch steps up after Reid and takes on someone in the top 12...preferably top 10...and ideally someone like Inkin, or Andrade, or...why not...Lacy. Then, we will know exactly how good he is.

I think he's just very frustrated with Froch lack of progress...he's not the only one.

You'll soon get used to ESB's brand of cut-throat humour......remember, everything gets exaggerated here...everything is black and white...don't take it too seriously...

What do you think of Carl Froch, by the way? What do you think of these statements he made? Don't you think he is exaggerating a bit too?

Okay, I see you're point. I don't hope he dies soon, but I do hope someone scratches the paintwork on his car or giggles at the cut of a suit he's wearing.

Forch isn't a bum or a nobody but he's a loud mouth who thinks he's a million times better than he is.

Does anyone think Froch could beat the winner of Calzaghe v. Kessler?

That pretty much sums him up in a nutshell. So far Froch is on the fringes of world title contention.Nothing more or less.At this stage i dont expect it to get much better than that. His not shown me anything to make me think his world class material or a world beater. Carl has alot of self belief but that self belief is now arrogance. He vastly overrates himself and really thinks his as good as he says he is. The reality is his not.His not fought anyone of any note yet other than a handful of domestic hopefuls. His fight against Reid doesnt prove much but he should be able to win a UD over an old dog like Reid providing Reid doesnt upset his applecart.

Frochs style isnt one that bodes well at a world class level. I fear he would have trouble with a guy like Manfredo who is a much better schooled boxer than he is and boasts supererior fundamentals. Froch`s defense is leaky and porous and the way he dangles that left with his chin out to dry is simply annoying. He really believes in his power and truly thinks his a world class puncher. Against Kessler or Joe he may put up a decent account for himself in brief spells but he gets left high and dry and would be way out his depth.Theres a big diffrence in fighting the best at 68 and taking on ordinary guys like Matthew Barney.
