I just don't get all the hyperbole surrounding Kessler, outside of an Andrade UD his best performance is a convincing loss to Calzaghe

Seems to be a unanimous consensus that Kessler beats Froch. Me, I'm not so sure. Most don't seem to be impressed by Carls fight against Jermain Taylor, but he got up from a scorching knockdown to get back in the fight and score a knockout. Taylor was prepared as he could be and fighting hard to get back into the top spot. As far as I know Kessler has never had to battle back from such adversity. He seemed to mentally surrender against Calzaghe. It could be said that Froch proved he could come from way back to win, and Kessler couldn't. Froch-Kessler would be a serious fight, and I wouldn't bet the house on Kessler.

I think thats because his win over Taylor said more about how flawed he is as a fighter rather than how good he is.

I can't help liking Froch, but Kessler will take his head clean off within 8 rounds.

if froch has any chance of beating kessler its now, an out of action kessler plus with ongoing problems out of the ring frochy has a good chance.

fair play for having the gonads, any other day of the week kessler beats froch but you never know...

I do sometimes wonder if anyone who likes Froch actually saw how poorly he performed against Taylor.

He was getting beaten up and, on two occasions, was on the verge of getting stopped except for Taylor backing off. Taylor’s reticence comes from the beatings he took at Pavlik’s hands – he’s terrified of getting hit now. Watch how, after looking like Lacy would be demolished, Taylor got clipped and kept out of harm’s way from then on. Unlike Lacy, however, Froch had the ammunition and ability to pull the trigger.

Froch was eating right hand after right hand and was losing comprehensively until he launched that last ditch assault in the final round. Lot of heart but not a lot of skill involved there.

Kessler keeps straight up, delivers that jab-right hand piledriver, uses footwork to keep Froch turning and his superior handspeed to bust Carl up. Froch’s chin isn’t all that when he was getting shaken up by the mediocre-puncher that is Taylor – Kessler’s going to put him out in the middle rounds.

Froch is calling Kessler for nothing.
    1) If Kessler is still stucked with Palle, the fight won't happen.
    2) If Kessler is to be free soon of Palle, he will be involved in the Showtime tournament and a fight against Kessler is already on the board.
Conclusion: Froch likes to say he's better than anydody, as usual.
I think Froch would lose a rematch against Pascal, based on both fighters last performance. Now, imagine Kessler.

I've watched the Taylor fight several times. Froch wasn't close to being stopped or even hurt at any point IMO. The stoppage was the cumulative affect of a lot of heavy punches against Taylor. It was also due to Frochs excellent ability to finish a fight, note how he stepped back so that he wouldn't smother his work and then picked his punches. I'm not sure Froch beats Kessler but Kessler would definitely know that he's been in a fight.

We sure know Froch has heart. He would give all he has until the end. But Kessler's style is not good for Froch. Froch likes to fight from mid to long range. That's Kessler specialty. The Danish has a fantastic jab, very accurate, with good snap on it. His right hand follows his jab. How would Froch be able to find his distance? He could try to move laterally, as Kessler is known for going mainly back and forward. I'm afraid Froch's footspeed is not good enough to do that. Kessler by stoppage after a complete domination.

Uh, sure, Carl. You got schooled by little MW Taylor until 2/3 of the way through the fight when he, predictably, got gassed, and you're going to beat Kessler? I get a big kick out of this guy. He's great for boxing.

Frochs skills are under rated. He's awkward, has an excellent jab himself when he chooses to use it, has a good beard, can counter punch effectively and carries his power very late. Froch will take Kessler into the trenches in the second half of the fight and I'm interested to see how the Dane holds up.

the fight is 12 rounds not 8, I wish people would stop going on about gassing, they know before the ****ing fight how long it is, if you arnt in condition to go the 12, its your own fault.
