Ze Germans burned Lapland. But the fight is in Helsinki, and it was 65 years ago, so I think Abraham will get fair treatment. Any other reason why "Lapland" wouldn't be a neutral venue?
Helsinki isn't in Lapland, but whatever. Seems like a dumb place to have the fight. Boxing was illegal in Finland until a few years ago, and last time they tried having a major card there (Valuev-Chagaev), it fell apart because their commission is probably the strictest in the world.
I think that was the fight where Chagaev tested positive for hepatitis B and they wouldn't let him fight. Edit: I don't who 'they' are. I just remember some venue wouldn't let the fight go ahead.
On that part of it, I misrecollected. What I said about the commission and the last major fight there falling apart because of them was true though.
