Carl Froch and Rachael Cordingley have quit Stepping Out due to an injury.

Professional boxer Froch sprained his lower back during last week's live show on ITV, and has been forced to leave the dancing competition.

An ITV spokesman said: "Whilst performing a lift during Saturday's live Stepping Out, Carl Froch sprained his lower back.

"After subsequent consultations with his physiotherapist, he has reluctantly decided to leave the competition".

Froch said: "I'm gutted that Rachael and I have to leave but I have to put my boxing career first. We've both enjoyed every minute of Stepping Out and loved dancing and spending time with each other.

Watch the press conference, its fairly obvious that is a load of old rubbish basically to get him out of the show and into training.

Seems obvious that this was always the plan to get out of the show to concentrate on his training for Groves.

Forget stepping out, gotta feeling Groves will have Froch dancing with the stars after landing a big counter right hand

He's taking to the publicity side nicely. This sort of tat is just for viewership.

Keep dreaming lad, Groves has a glass jaw which will be shattered early if Groves actually comes to fight. If he try's to win a decision over Froch then his Jaw gets shattered in the mid to late rounds.:happy

The only way groves would ever win is if Froch is past it. Beating a 43 year old glen johnson who was coming off the back of 4 losses from 5 fights does not set someone as a world class fighter

I don't think many of us would have GG in the world class bracket just yet .............. but assume we are all of the opinion that he has a decent chance.

And this is his platform. Let's see what he can do.

I don't need to pick a side I couldn't care who wins. Although if pushed I would opt for GG as Froch is bit of a wanker.
