I take it you've ignored several interviews from Peterson saying that he'd be happy to do it again if the terms are suitable.

Khan is doing this out of ego/delusion/twattishness - so he can pretend that the defeat didn't really happen and so he can dictate terms for a rematch.

Hopefully Peterson knocks him out in the return so we can forget about the arrogant ****er.

 

yes he's said he'd take it but doesn't have to, there is no rematch clause and that once again sums up the amateurs that are Team Khan.

The twat is now trying to buy a rematch with submitting that $10K to lodge an official appeal.

Peterson should go for Bradley and unify the division.

Nah I don't think that's it, he talked big before the fight and got totally schooled by Ward and had no other option bar be dignified in defeat.

 

I don't think you can add a rematch clause to a mandatory defence.

yeah I think that's true but it was the IBF's mandatory, shouldn't they have safeguarded the WBA title though?

I suppose because Peterson would have just said “Nah, I’ll just go for the IBF then”. And even if he had a rematch for the WBA, the IBF probably wouldn’t let them fight for it and would likely have stripped Peterson.

Peterson seems absolutely happy to take the fight as long as the terms are fair. When he was offered the voluntary he realised he could get more money by holding out until he was a mandatory. He’s got a smart team who care about him, I’d say.

And we know the Khan’s don’t like paying people fairly if they can avoid it. This is nothing to do with justice, it’s about keeping the money train going.

If Khan got his belts back I bet he wouldn’t be fighting Lamont again because he’ll say “But I beat him already!”

 

How very true, this is the man that was sending letters to the WBA asking for a 18 month extension NOT to rematch Maidana again.

Here's the real deal on Khan. The guy is not taking his loss like he should. He needs to let it go, shut the **** up and work on his technical flaws. Yes, he's acting a bit of a twat but he's not killed anyone and is certainly not the first, nor the last boxer to be a sore loser. He's a good guy, comes across as down to earth in interviews, takes time out to do charity work, still immature, a bit thick but PE was obviously his favourite subject at school. Not a bad guy. I find it disturbing how quickly people have turned on him after this fight, and by how much. Wishing he was sparked out and what not. I think sometimes he makes it hard for people to support him but the hatred going his way is a bit strong. At least he cares about his career despite already being set for life.

Put yourself in his shoes, imagine the vile, sometimes racist abuse he's been getting and it's easy to see why he would say such a thing while he's still emotional about it. Does he mean it? No, he will fight again in Britain.

McCloskey was the nob, moaning and saying he would've done this and would've done that. Fact is, he did **** all but posture and pose around trying to look "slick". He had his chance and blew it. Eddie Hearn was also being a ****.

I never cared for Khan but now I for one hope the guy is able to come back stronger from this defeat and prove the haters wrong once more, and yes Khan brings casual fans to the sport, guys who "don't know **** about boxin", that's what household names do. It's a good thing for the sport and the mega paydays boxers get is due to casuals, not some saddo ****s like us on a boxing forum. Also, it's true that a lot of these Khan fans are just ****stanis supporting the dude because of his race, but you gotta understand why they do this. Khan is the one positive representation of a British ****stani and they don't have a lot of people repping them in the mainstream media. They need to get behind their man. It's no different to Pinoys supporting and looking up to Pacman or Cholos cheering for Fernando Vargas, East Asians looking up to Bruce Lee cuz finally they had a guy repping them who was not some asexual nerd or Chinaman. You've gotta be a minority to understand this thing about supporting a guy cuz of his race. To them, these guy are not just boxers.

As for Froch, good on him to be gracious in defeat but the comparisons to Khan are poor because he lost by quite a distance and had no choice but to accept his defeat like a man. For a better comparison, see Froch's comments post Dirrell and post Kessler. I don't recall you guys calling him a **** then. Khan needs to get over it, but so do a lot of posters here.
