I hope there will be some comments about going to public school or having a strict but not too strict father in this thread. Never can get enough of ridiculing Carl ghetto boy Froch
Some highlights from the interview: Why didn't he opt for any anaesthetic? "I don't believe in drugs. When I had a knee reconstruction I woke up in horrific pain. My knee was on a machine that was meant to bend my leg straight and this nurse stood over me. She said: 'You've just had a major operation – have some morphine.' I said: 'Don't put that **** in my veins.'" Froch has also instigated what the tabloids still call "a nookie ban", by insisting he and Rachael abstain from sex before a fight. "I do a sex ban, yeah. Probably a month – or even more. You don't let a male horse mate before a race for a reason. Women weaken the legs. But for me it's not a sacrifice – and I say that bearing in mind Rachael was Miss Maxim a couple of years ago. She's a model and a beautiful girl. But boxing is too important. My life's on the line."
People can ridicule him all they like, and I have to admit that interview about his past was utterly hilarious, but he is good value and great entertainment.
I can understand why people don't like Froch, but I think he is one of the most interesting characters in the game. When referring to the Morphine, "Don't put that **** in my veins." ****ing hardcore! lol
This bit stood out to me: "But I probably read too much. I read a book called The Optimum Nutrition Bible by Patrick Holford. And now I don't go to the doctor ever." He doesn't read too much, he just reads crap. That guy is a totally unqualified quack and he would be wise to read up on a man who makes hundreds of thousands of pounds selling his own range of pills and uses his books to promote them. He has already had action taken against him by the Advertising Standards Agency for making false claims. Here is an example of the sort of crap this charlatan makes a fortune from: http://www.badscience.net/2007/05/the-amazing-qlink-science-pedant/
TBH I think he was well aware of his audience when he said that. Guardian readers lap that new age alternative medicine **** up.
Maybe so. Incidentally there is an entire website dedicated to monitoring that fraud. http://holfordwatch.info/ If Froch is aware of the reality he shouldn't be helping the **** sell books.
Then why did you say this???: Or were you going along with the act? I've heard this suggested before, that he's, as the Brits would say, taking a ****, when he does his tough guy meathead act, but I don't see any sense of irony when he does it. It seems completely genuine to me. Are you putting on an act now or are you genuinely a Froch kinda guy?
Because I actually found it quite amusing I can't say for sure wether he's joking or serious (I think it's tongue in cheek), but might as well have some fun with it.
It's taking the ****, taking a **** is something completely different. Froch is great btw, he's an average boxer yet he keeps winning which really bothers people.
