Everyone can have a bad night. He didn't look half bad against Lacy. But these days. Rubin Williams is nothing more then a washed up fighter. He has nothing left in him.

Good opponent for a short notice but Froch should walked through him without much problem.

Not the fight we all wanted. It is a shame to see Froch go along the Calzaghe career path of never fighting anyone.

Damn, I was just talking about Berrio in another thread.

Froch can get a bye with this one...Inkin did pull out twice, not his fault.

He MUST do something in the summer though. His career really has panned out horribly thus far, his management sucks.

Half decent? Rubin is a very good name opponent that would get Froch noticed on the US radar. For a short notice opponent id say his excellent. This is certainly Frochs to win and Rubin is there for a KO.

its short notice but hardly last minute, Inkin pulled out weeks ago. And you can guarentee hennesey knew about the pull out before we did.

No Scurla Rubin Williams is not a good oponent.

Froch KO in 3, yet another win with no questions answered.

Williams is a guy who's been stopped by a prospect (Ward) and KTFOed in 30 seconds by a journeyman. There's no way this guy can be spun as a good opponent. If Froch had fought Ward for example, yeah, fair enough...but as such...no. Even big Froch fans admit this guy is a "bum".

Froch is the number one contender that must hold some kind of water with these fringe contenders, if Ruben Williams is the best they can come up with makes me wonder if his team want to take ANY risks now he has he has the number 1 position handed to him on a plate - may aswel bide his time until Joe vacates or is stripped, then the 'Joe ducked me joe ducked me' charade can carry on a lil bit longer...

He will fight someone decent for the vacant title. At least Miranda or the winner of Pascal v. Zuniga. Of course, Kessler would be the ultimate opponent. He is after Froch and Inkin in the rankings.

Anyone think Inkin pulled out because he has a straight shot at Kessler lined up for June?

No way. Inkin probably doesn't have the best of chins. Becoming injured, he didn't go beyond the call of duty to face a puncher like Froch.

Why would he have decided to fight in the eliminator in the first place? Clearly an injury and another one but this doesn't look good; I'll give you that - first time you step up and you cancel twice!

The first time was a virus not an injury.

The second one was a back injury.

Everybody knows back injuries can never be verified properly.
