Froch Is Not Particularly Heavy-handed and Would Lose to Sakio Bika If They Fought

Where exactly does the misconception that Froch is a devastating KO artist come from? He KOed Taylor, big ****ing deal. Froch didn't come close to stopping anyone in the SS6. Granted, he didn't face any glass chins but I didn't see anyone being phased by his shots. As a matter of fact, Dirrell did a lot more damage with his punching power to Abraham than Froch (both delivered a similarly clinical performance to be fair, it's just that Dirrell knocked AA down twice, Froch didn't come close to hurting him). My point is, that his punching power is vastly overrated.
And so is his skill. After seeing him get embarassed by Ward, I reckon it's not too far-fetched to assume he'd lose to Bika as well. While I'm not too much of a supporter of triangle theories, one's gotta admit Bika fared significantly better against Ward than Froch. In fact, I've never seen anyone have an easy time with Bika. Calzaghe, Bute and Ward looked rather relieved when the fight was over against Bika whereas Ward breezes through Froch without breaking a sweat.

Based on what? Bika's chin is solid (didn't get close to being stopped vs. Bute) and Froch's power heavily overrated. Why would he STOP him? I mean, I can perhaps see a points victory for Carl but that's about it. IMO Bika beats him 7 out of 10 times.

i dont think his power is overrated, i think hes top puncher at his division. maybe bika can go all 12 with froch and some what competetive in his prime. but as of 2012 i think froch would stop him or beat him clearly. just never thought much of bika.he was always a gatekeeper to me, not even on the level of glen road warrior johnson.

Froch has stopped no one at 168 who was worth a ****. NO ONE. What was Andre Ward's toughest fight? Not Kessler, and certainly Not Froch, who he schooled. It was Bika. I'd pick Froch over Bika by decision, but it wouldn't be easy, and he certainly wouldn't stop Bika.

    Hmmm.

Froch KO'ed hungry/reckless Magee in 11, first half of the fight was pretty close.

Froch TKO'ed Tatevosyan in 2, with Sergey getting less than a month's notice.

Froch stopped past prime Taylor in a great comeback fight where, yes, Taylor gassed around the 10th.

Froch rocked Kessler in rounds 5, 6 and 12 of their fight -- and Kessler has a great chin. Wobbled him but didn't hurt him IMO.

He has above average punching power... wears you down with pressure, volume, and eventually lands the combos late aiming for a T/KO.

Are you asking how that plays out against Bute? Or are you, for some reason, all excited at the idea of Froch-Bika?!

Round 4 on, Bute mastered the distance against Bika. Ward never adapted (!!!) and traded with Bika the entire fight... 3 consecutive scorpion right hands landing on Ward's temple in round 12 around the 2 min mark.

I think Froch would beat Bika on points using the jab to keep him at bay. Bika doesn't have the ring intelligence or footwork required to pull a Ward on Froch. Not nearly enough.

Bika is a bum. He isn't beating anyone worth mentioning.

This has potential to be one of the dirtiest fights in recent history. I bet Bika would make it a ****ing war with his dirty tactics, but he would ultimately lose a decision in the UK, which is obviously where this fight would take place.

I'd pick Carl to win this fight going away. Bika and Johnson are fighters with the same level of talent and similar strengths. I see the fight being similar. Carl would back up and do a jab-right hand all night. He'd get caught with a coulpe of big shots but overall he'd pick up rounds and win a comfortable or close UD.

Froch is way too athletic and smart for Bika. Froch would use his jab to control the distance and bust Bika up

actually Andre Ward lost his fight to Sakio Bika and got a gift decision.
