He sells a fight, got the gift of the gab. He wants to entertain. He wants to trade and impress the fans. He went to america to defend his belt and is now saying he's happy to go to Denmark to fight Kessler. He's exactly what we need in boxing, why does he get so much ****?
Delusional = selling himself and selling his fights. Lacks class = not really. Dirty = atsch He's in a fight, not a chess match.
i agree with all you said but....after that controversial victory (to say the least) over Dirrell he had the nerve to suggest that some1 tryed to rob him plus with his lack of basic boxing fundamentals, i could understand why people don't care much for the guy especially right now...but i still think he's getting too much hate and not enough credit and oh yeah, and i bet Calzaghe could think of a couple of more reasons as well
Yeah, he's selling himself and his fights, but that wouldn't explain the crazy stone-cold sober post-fight analysis of himself and his fight. So, he's delusional, not just selling himself and his fights. He does lack class. Maybe you don't know the kind of things he said about Calzaghe and about Dirrell, after the fight. Not dirty? I think you should go back to MMA or WWF or whatever the hell you're usually watching, cause for some reason I doubt you know anything about chess.
None of that **** really matters though. You can still be a popular fighter despite all those things. What really irks people is that he got what most deem a gift decision and that irritates boxing fans probably more than anything else. Add to that his lack of skill which can make him ugly and uninspiring to watch and you have your answer as to why people are giving him so much **** lately. Afterall, boxing is a 'what have you done for me lately' kind of sport, and lately, Froch stunk it out. onourway made some good points though. If Froch only had the skills to match all those other qualities we'd have a very fan friendly figher on our hands instead of another crude over-achiever who will likely get smashed by the very best the supermiddleweight division has to offer.
Becauses hes trying to pretend hes something hes not, talking about being greater than Hagler/Hearns/Leonard etc, Ali did similar but he could back it up, he has more unfounded conceit than most other boxers. As for 'selling the fight' he hasnt done a that good job, what did he get 2000 PPVs? And a load of people wanted their money back because the PPV f*cked up on the technical side Fans are also in uproar over what they consider a corrupt robbery on his behalf so hes copping the flack for that. Plus hes a hypocrite complaining about trash talk when all he does when he opens his mouth is just that
Froch didn't stink anything out. The Taylor and Pascal fights were two of the best of their respective years, that shows how entertaining he can be when matched with people who want to engage. Dirrell's negativity ruined that fight.
