No he's not what boxing need. Boxing need guy who do fireworks in the ring, not in the press conference.

It takes two to tango. If Froch were a more talented and more technically rounded fighter he could have actually gotten to Dirrell and made that fight much more entertaining than it was. Take Froch out of the equation and put in someone like Abraham who is a little quicker and more technically sound and you'd probably have a much better fight on your hands.

My point is that Froch's inability to track Dirrell down and score punches was part of the problem. Hence, he stunk out the joint as well.

 

I like a Froch fight most of the time. He's far from being the perfect fighter though.

Why does Froch get so much ****? there are many, many reasons which I don't want to go into in detail but look at it like this. Manny Pacquiao is arguably the number 1 p4p fighter in the world right now, he doesn't talk ****, is a great role model, humble, has acomplished so much etc and guess what? He takes a lot of **** here on ESB. So what are the chances of Froch being loved?

He's not the only limited fighter but a limited fighter who has a big mouth plus rabbit punching, plus lack of class in post fight interview plus failure to do an interview without mentioning Calzaghe, "heavy artillery", and "being in the trenches", plus being a hypocrite (saying Dirrell lacks class), plus lying (saying "I don't get involved in trash talking"-then proceeds to trash talk his opponent for 2 minutes), plus making up excuses (see his newspaper column to his fans) = A lot of negative attention (I think I covered pretty much every reason there, let me know if I missed anything) **** I just realised I actually did go through every reason even though I said I wouldn't at the start of my post.

I don't hate Froch. I think it's wrong to hate ANY fighter and I wish him nothing but success and hapiness but the guy is plain begging to get humbled. He's made a choice and every choice has consequences.

Not everyone can expect to generate attention AND be loved. Like low budget airline Ryanair-they believe all publicity is good publicity. Carl Froch has clearly taken a leaf out of Michael o' Leory's book. They will never be considered "quality" or "classy" like Singapore airlines, or Emirates for example, but they still get attention and still get paid. People may watch Carl to get KAYO'ed but he still gets paid so I doubt he cares very much. He chose to play the villain, no one made him do it.

 

A lot of what you say makes sense but for me I don't find his style of fighting that enjoyable to watch.
