He's exactly what we need in boxing, why does he get so much ****?
Because as much as people hate on Mayweather and fighter like him, at least they know he can back up what he says. At least they know he's an elite athelete. Froch? Froch is a fighter...which is great. But he'd never appear on a list of the world's top 10000 sports people. He's limited, which means he'll lose...soon.
Agaisnt the RIGHT opposition that is true. He has stepped up his oppostion but he hasnt fought the best quite yet. Dirrell proved that hes here to stay, but lets be honest, that was Dirrells first fight stepping up in comp and he fought the WRONG fight and a rematch would prove so. Taylor is a good win on paper, but we all know that Taylor is damaged goods since being KOed by Pavlik and is career is almost up. Pascal was a hard fought win but Pascal is not among the best imo. There are 3 ppl in the tourney who i feel would thoroughly outclass Froch.
By RUSS ANBER While boxing can often be criticized for shooting itself in the foot, the announcement of the Classic Six Super Middleweight tournament surely demonstrates a determined effort at providing fans with the best possible match-ups. The tournament itself is definitely not without its flaws, and certainly time will tell as to whether or not it will achieve its ultimate goal. However, it is only fair that we recognize the effort being put forth by some of the biggest names in the sport. Before I go on, I think I should try and explain the obvious omission of both Lucian Bute, and the IBF's number one ranked contender, Librado Andrade. There is no doubt that both these gentlemen have done more than enough to earn their spot in the tournament. Sadly their non-participation is not due to their abilities, but more to bad timing than anything else. Not long after Andrade defeated Vitaly Tsypko to establish himself, once again, as the mandatory challenger to Lucian Bute's title, both sides, unable to reach an agreement, went to purse bid. While this was good for both fighters in terms of the money it, it ultimately eliminated them as possible participants in the tournament. It should be noted however, that no one is to blame for this at all. In short, the powers that promote Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler and the rest of the Classic 6, simply couldn't wait for Bute and Andrade to finish their business. Ken Hershman, the head of Showtime, and the man credited with brain-storming this tournament, has indicated that Bute or Andrade can be moved into the tournament at a future date. OK with that out of the way, let's look at what might be the most important tournament boxing has held since Don King's unification of the middleweight crown. There is no denying the talent involved, Mikkel Kessler and Carl Froch are both reigning world champions and have proven themselves as elite super-middleweights, the two Andre's, Dirrell and Ward, have been on the radar of boxing experts for some time now and are clearly two of the best young stars in the game. King Arthur Abraham, while a dominant middleweight, has yet to prove himself in the super middleweight division. He is however a strong name in Europe, and there is no reason to believe he won't be able to more than carry his own. The weakest link in the six appears to be Jermain Taylor. Having lost three of his last four fights, including 2 by crushing KO's, it wouldn't be surprising to see Taylor exit the tournament earlier than expected if he is to suffer another bad KO loss. Everyone, from Ken Hershman on down has worked hard in putting the Classic 6 together, this is great for boxing, and even greater for the fans in both North America and Europe. However, it would be myopic to assume that a tournament of this magnitude can go on without complications of sorts, and I am certain, that Hershman and Co., have taken that into consideration. Let's hope they will all be as equally creative in ad******g it as it moves along.
Exactly. People fall into the gimick that you must be a warrior to be respected. **** that. Its BOXING, you know hit and not get hit. Froch hits and gets hit twice. He just hasnt been in with anyone who has capitalized on that (except Dirrell but only in the last 3 rounds)
people give him a lot of undue ****, he fights his heart out and never backs down, thats all i ask:good
Russ Anber - He is the President of Boxing Quebec and is a member of Boxing Canada's board of directors. Yep - real impartial
He's exactly what we need in boxing, why does he get so much ****?
Because he's not championship material...bottom line. And as crazy as most boxing fans are, they can spot a fraud. Froch is a C level champ who talks like an A level champ and gets too much respect because he's one of only two English Champions. Basically, he's Mickey Ward with a better management team. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Ward was a very entertaining fighter, but nobody ever said he was elite. The difference is the Froch fans like to pretend like the guy is an elite fighter when everyone from every other country knows that this is bunk. Froch is an average champ who has fought three tough fights.
Because hes an arrogant twat with no real boxing skills, he can bang but thats about it but his opponent needs to stand directly in front of him for him to do any damage. Jermain Taylor is damaged goods if he wasnt he would have finished off your hero when he had him ****ed up
OK, no source is good for you....still waiting for Bute ducked Froch and owe Andrade rematch source....
This aint Rocky...he may never back down and fight his heart out, but that damn sure dont make you great. And with his lack of skills it just makes him a Ko dying to happen.

No, those are the perfect marketing tools, they don't get you anywhere when a world class operator wants to smash your face in and you lack the skill to stop them.
