Carl Froch: "On Monday and Tuesday I thought the fight was off. There was a volcano, and I thought the fight was off. I took my foot off the gas. I shouldn't have done that, and it's my own fault. I should be more professional. I will learn from it and this fight will make be stronger".

There is no more preparation after Monday morning when you fight on Saturday. What did he do? We've read he didn't have sex. He drank? Played poker all night?

He should have omitted the first half of his statement.

I don't know. It is an excuse that is for sure. Kessler won is all we can say.

He's a stupid twat, thought he was something special when it was made clear today he's just ordinary. Hopefully now he'll STFU with all his BS hyp talk about being so special.

I think he has landed on the side of dignity rather than excuse making, just. He gave Kessler full credit but a warrior shouldn't meekly accept defeat after a fight like tonight, Froch accepts that he lost but still thinks he can beat him on another day, i'd watch a re-match though i still wouldn't pay £15 for the priviledge.

All top fighters make excuses after a defeat. In their mind they can't be beaten fairly. I guess it's part of the reason why certain fighters make it so far in the sport.

Seriously I knew traveling would not be a problem so surely Froch knew this as well. He fought a good fight and lost to the better fighter. No shame in that.

He's saying he only has himself to blame.
