Froch Total Thrown: 935 Total Connects: 155 (17%) 64 out of 605 Jabs (11%) 91 out of 335 Power Punches (27%) Kessler Total Thrown: 645 Total Connects: 126 (19%) 50 out of 379 Jabs (13%) 76 out of 266 Power Punches (29%) I've just spent the last 3 1/2 - 4 hours collating these stats. I watched the fight and counted each fighter 1 at a time pausing when necessary (which was a lot). I did not count punches that I wasn't sure landed. My view is that Froch won the fight and these stats back that up (i was unbiased in collating them). The round by round stats also back this up (can print if wanted). All those posters who are saying that it was a close but clear win for Kessler are chatting BS. It was anything but clear. Just because something is the received wisdom does not necessarily make it so. Round by round connects (jabs are in brackets): Froch Kessler 1. 10 (7) 4 (3) 2. 10 (9) 6 (3) 3. 8 (4) 10 (9) 4. 13 (7) 6 (2) 5. 13 (4) 14 (6) 6. 12 (5) 11 (6) 7. 8 (4) 12 (6) 8. 7 (3) 12 (4) 9. 13 (5) 7 (2) 10. 11 (6) 14 (4) 11. 25 (6) 13 (2) 12. 25 (4) 17 (3)
this does not taken into effect clean effective punching and if most of froch's blows landed in 3 or 4 rounds doesn't mean he won the fight.
The total punches is not the only criteria to judge a round. When I read your post, I get the strange feeling that I cannot trust your stats anyway. Anyway, these numbers are awful for both fighters. I hope for them they're not accurate.
A news paper did this on Sunday and published these numbers: Froch Total Thrown: 546 Total Connects: 98 (18%) Kessler Total Thrown: 765 Total Connects: 147 (19%) ____________________ So, your home-made numbers give me ZERO confidence.
its probably somewhat accurate, I lost track of how many times Froch pawed the air with his jab and how many times Kessler through but Froch moved his head.
Well we all know your position on the fight anyway so I don't really care about your endorsement. Those paper's stats are total crap. If you just look at the number thrown for Froch we can see that it is wildly under what it should be. The number of jabs he threw was hard to count at times.
I know for a fact Froch didn't throw damn near 1000 punches, he threw 600 total against Dirrell and didn't throw much more against Kessler. Kessler held a higher work rate than Froch.
No you don't idiot, you didn't count them. What you mean is that you don't think he threw that many punches and you are wrong.
