I may be a little impatient but surely we should get some more news soon? Eddie sort it out mate. Fair to say given the CL Final is on, we don't expect a "stacked" undercard but surely we will get more than Bellew/Chilemba II and Groves v TBA (most likely an unknown). Anyone have any idea when Hearn will give us more news? Feels we've been hearing rumours re the undercard for weeks now.....:think
I still want to know if they'll be showing the champions league in the arena. I think they're leaving it late so when they announce poor fights people don't kick up as much fuss as they are just happy groves etc are actually fighting.
No yafais def not on it,and we have ochieng, bellew, groves confirmed as fighting.so as it's getting closer maybe bellews third from top,i was hoping for something else.but everyone else tied up injured or have other dates Maybe next ppv we could have froch, burns and brook all in meaningful fights I don't buy the one fight is all that counts crap
It does feel like almost everything (outside of the main event), is up in the air. Eddie is usually very good when it comes to communicating with the fans but on this one, he is struggling. Would like to hear more about Groves.....
I dunno, its a tricky call with the CL final on the same night. The main event sells the PPV, if the card needs to be PPV then I don't see Quigg-Frampton getting enough extra buyers to justify its place on the card from Hearns point of view.
A decent opponent will want time to prepare and we are running out of time for that. "No news is good news" rarely applies to boxing cards.
Short term opponent is a concern What a shame groves degale 2'couldnt be made A great support bout worthy of ppv
PPV is the only way to get these big fights. Froch v Kessler, Burns v Broner, Brook v Elite Welterweights. Any of our big fighters will get the opportunity to fight against the elite if theirs a PPV platform in the UK, and the chances of those fights happening in the UK are also increased. So as a British Boxing fan I want PPV to work. I think the way that it works is by having the reputation of Sky Box Office Boxing being a high one in the eyes of the casual sports fan. Thats what went wrong with the **** Frank was churning out with Khan and the garbage Haye PPV's. Previously there was this idea "Its Sky Box Office, its going to be great" I honestly have mates that would get every Sky PPV but never watched a Friday Fight Night. Khan v Prescott they bought it! If you had these PPV's with big quality main events like Froch v Kessler, and then had quality under cards, it would build the profile of those fighters and it would build the Sky PPV brand. The cheapskates on here will moan about 15quid no matter what fights you put on. I want PPV to be a success because it can be good for British Boxing.
I expect title fights on ppv undercards and I want at least 8 fights. Groves had better get a good opponent. Frank did great with the Magnificent 7 and Groves vs DeGale.
You would imagine that all the decent opponents will have been approached and turned it down. It's a catch 22. Good opponents are who you approach first, say no. you then go to the B list, who have less time. Peter Manfredo is a bad opponent. Peter Manfredo at 3 weeks notice is a **** opponent.
