If some dude is earning millions, they can afford to pay 50% tax. Alright, it's not a particuarly nice thing to do, but if you're making enough to live comfortabley for the rest of your years and provide for your family, then you shouldn't need to worry about being greedy.

Although, I do see his point, he is a boxer after all so he earned it, not as is if he is some lucky strockbrocker.

for those who are saying its law get on with it, blah blah.......ITS MAN-MADE LAW....AND THOSE MEN ARE MOSTLY CROOKS!!. Thieves and corrupt. I wouldnt trust any of these people with a virus.

5O percent strikes me as pretty ridiculous especially considering your money is probably in the hands of damn crooked people.

What a terrible state for Froch to be in!

Having to pay 50% to a government which invests heavily in sport and over the last few years has ploughed money into amateur boxing. I mean if the taxes went towards health care or education I'd already be angry but having to repay your dues to the grass roots level of the sport that made you a success. Sham. Absolute sham.

There will be ways and means of getting around it I am sure.

Froch will most likely have a holding company that will charge Hennessy Sports (or DiBella in this instance) for services rendered.

The company is then free to distribute the money as it sees fit.

    Absolutely

The 50% tax was largely symbolic - people earning lots and lots of money will have advisers who get around these things and minimise their tax bills

If you had your own company and was making half a million a year in profit, you wouldn't be so stupid as to pay it all to yourself.

My gaffer has his wife and three daughters on the payroll on the maximum amount below the amount above which 40% would be payable.

    A bit of a co-incidence, don't you think!

If he does do this then he can **** right off as far as I'm concerned from wearing a Union Jack on his shorts. 50pc on the earnings above that massive number is perfectly reasonable looking at how much everyone in the UK is going to have to pay back for bailing the banks out.

The tax rates were miles higher than that years ago.

Most of us don't have a choice in bailing out so for the richest to do so is pretty disgusting if you ask me.

I love it when people get a place in Spain. They're usually people who hate foreigners coming into the UK but go somewhere where they never learn the language, sit around like lobsters eating fish and chips and guzzling lager and talking like a cross between John Gaunt and Danny Dyer. Not big on irony either.

Ain't Froch got Polish-Jewish ancestry? What a great way of saying thanks for UK letting his family move here, integrate and give him the chance to make millions. (It ain't folks overseas that pay your bills Carl)

    Rant over!
