Sorry if this has already been posted but Frochy now no.3 in the ring magazine 168lb rankings. About right or should he be no.2?Kessler been dormant for a while, should that effect his ranking if he doesn't fight for a while??

About right, he should be amingfor Bute. Kessler is a step too far for me though i suspect Froch has him in his radar.

One more win on the level of his last two and he has to leapfrog Kessler, whose career is going nowhere.

I'm not sure how good Kessler really is or isn't, to be honest. I think a fighter with good lateral movement will give him problems. He's clearly a very good ABC belt holder though. This whole Mikkel Ali thing though is starting to lose me...

If I'm being kind, I'd put Froch above Bute, Bute hasn't done much at all and was nearly stopped by Andrade. Yea, for going to that States he deserves that. Bute has taken the home road and is showing little interest in unifying at the mo'. Being out boxed (for a fair few rounds) by Taylor, away from home, is not worse than being floored and nearly losing to Andrade. I realise it's not based on one or two fights, but Bute is hardley that established either.

I think 3rd is right. If he was to beat Bute next or another contender I'd have him 1st.

If he'd been ahead on points or stopped Taylor earlier than 14 seconds before the end I'd have him 2nd.

Would be interesting to see what the impact on Calzaghe would be if he took on and beat Kessler. Could damage Joe's reputation as best British fighter of his generation that.

yeh if he beats Bute he goes ahead of Kessler. Kesslers biggest name is a loss to Calzaghe. After that Beyer and Andrade?? Bute and Taylor would 100% top that.

Also i find it funny how Taylor was ranked at super middle in the top 10 before even having a fight there, and then beat Jeff Lacy who is just crap now and went to number 3

Realistically, Froch should probably be number 1. He is undefeated, beat an undefeated fighter for the vacant belt and then faced a proven P4P fighter. I think we all agree that Kessler is a better fighter but Froch has got the proven win.

Exactly , Kessler gets a hell of a lot of credit for losing to Calzaghe , the Beyer KO was brutal but I think Beyer had already announced it was his last fight.

He is a talent but a talent thats stuck in a rut !

Jeez Kessler lost to the only class fighter he faced and Bute is only known for beating a guy that lost to Kessler and he should have lost that. The division is pretty weak at the moment once you take away the fanboy gloss.

Froch is a decent fighter but one win over a decent Taylor will not gain him world wide recognition.

  15. Why is Bute no 2 what exactly has he done

And damn I never realised Kessler has had 42 fights who has he fought !!! His biggest name is a loss to Calzhage.... His whole reputation has been Joe fans bigging him up
