Froch-Taylor was very close going into the final round, hardly an outclassing, especially considering that the pressure and punishment Froch inflicted on Taylor the previous 11 rounds rounds left him vulnerable to the late KO.
If we're being objective it's important to provide accurate information, and to actually watch a boxer fight before forming an opinion.

I'll be honest, I hate Froch, can't stand the guy. But his fight against Taylor was hardly one sided - how did you score it going into the last? Plus, what does it matter when Taylor couldn't make the final bell??

Also, I don't understand how there was wide spread critisism after Froch beat Pascal who has gone on to prove he is quite handy. Yeah, he is open but seems to have a solid chin and whilst he looks a touch ponderous he has decent power and still has the ability to catch opponents.

How can you make a solid judgement if you have never seen Dirrell fight??

lol, I was thinking the same thing...

Taylor and Pascal are a few levels above Dirrell in my opinion.... Should be an easier night for Froch than the night that those two gave him.

I am fans of both Taylor and Froch, so I guess you could call me neutral ..Around the 8th or 9th round I could see that Froch's punches were really affecting Taylor, who was becoming more defensive and much slower.

NO WAY could any objective fan say that he was getting outclassed.

Children please! First and foremost, whilst I haven't seen a full Direll fight, I've seen snippets posted on this forum and youtube. Second, if you'd care to read this post carefully, my emphasis was on many posters on this forum saying that Froch was outclassed by Taylor prior to knocking him out, and that Froch and Pascal was nothing more than a glorified punch up. This was the consensus view on this board until recently - not my own.

I seen most of Froch's fights from start to finish and base my assertions about Froch's attributes entirely on what I have seen. As I tend to value fellow posters views I've given Direll the benefit of the doubt.

So take the time to read before you make swarmy repetitive statements.

Dirrell can cause Froch some problems no doubt he has very fast hands the fastest in this tourney and the best movement as well. With that said I question Dirrell's mental toughness and think he will eventually wear down under Froch's attack. I see Dirrell wining the first part of this fight by sticking and moving before Froch catches up to him and stops him late.

There has never been a consensus like that on Froch. Some have said he was fabulous, other a hyped job. When he beat Pascal and Taylor, people began to change their mind. The hype job disapeared of the posts. That's the same thing about Dirrel except he hasn't stepped up yet. He may be a future star or he may be exposed. We'll see. What I saw from him make me think he will lose against Froch but for me it's not an easy fight for Froch. We'll see very soon!

I am not a Froch or Dirrell fan, so whoever wins doesn't phase me.

IMHO, Froch is overrated. He has just recently started fighting decent competition, so he is no world beater at this point. His defense is bad. Thats just easy to see. His footwork is just not good. He has some pop on his right hand, but its not some amazing KO1 everyone type of power. He is not slow, but on the slow side. His win over Taylor was a good win for him. JT has been called limited by a LOT of people for a while, so maybe they are right. I don't know. In my eyes, JT was winning the fihgt until he got tired. JT has never had great conditioning. Watch all of his previous longer fights....later rounds he is dragging ass tired. So thats not a fault of Froch, but I think its a major factor in how the fight was won. In any event, I think Froch is a decent fighter, but overrated by many. Its laughable about how he thinks following the classless Haye approach to getting a big fight is to talk a lot of garbage instead of doing it in the ring though. Either way he is decent.

Now Dirrell seems to have a lot of talents, but I do not know if he has the toughness or the mindset to win a big fight. I have seen about 3 of his fights and in all of them I saw him toying and playing way too much. Being a showboat is no compliment in my book. He has always had superior speed and movement than anyone he has ever fought from what I can see. I am not sure about his power because I do not think I have seen him bang and sit down on his punches. My hunch is that although he may not be feather fisted (eg Calzaghe), but I do not think he has iron fists either.

I think this fight comes down to Dirrell's intelligence as a fighter. Is he smart enough to use his assets to beat Froch or will be try to show off or fight a bad fight for himself. I think Dirrell's toughness may be a factor and I do not know the answer to that one. I hope he fights smart and shows he has some heart. In my mind, that will make a good fight.

Personally, I want a good fight more than anything, but I will most likely cheer for Dirrell. I don't think I could cheer for Froch after his horrible attempts to talk trash.

    1) That was your first mistake

    2) That was your second. Your clearly haven't seen Froch fight or you wouldn't have been so biased for Taylor.
