It's the perfect fight to make Kessler look good and it would be for the WBC title. I think he'll take it now that Mandy has run away.

Kessler and Taylor are the only threats on that list to Froch.

Funny when he called Pascal, Jean Fruit Pastielle after the sweets.

I think Froch has the kind of power to get anyones attention at SMW. I just wish he'd fought at a higher level in order to be ready for the names in that top 5.

You look at Taylor: he's been in with Hopkins, Winky Wright, Pavlik, Spinks - lots of good big fight experience.

Kessler: fought Mundine is Australia, Beyer in Germany and Calzaghe in Cardiff.

Miranda: Least experienced of the lot but took on Abraham in Germany, Pavlik and the much hyped at the time Allen Green.

Froch: ..... a couple of decent boxers in Nottingham who were past their best.

It's a typical British thing where his record is being built up but he's not testing himself and learning in order to be absolutely primed for facing the likes of that top 5. I happen to think that Inkin's camp have been guilty of a similar path for their boy.

Froch has got to number 1 by way of press releases. I hope he proves many people wrong by beating a Taylor or Kessler, but I just hope he's ready for it when the time comes.

I would not be at all surprised if he fights Jones at 168 so they can have lots of titles at stake.

Steady now Carl - no need to rush into that 23rd fight of your stellar career. After all you're only 30 yrs old. Look at that silly Kessler he's nearly 2 years younger, has had 39 fights and has already been a multiple belt world champion. Now take it easy big Cobra and think things through properly before rushing into anything

I could see a Froch-Pascal fight later this year for the vacant title.

That's of course if they both remean undefeated.

GYM and Hennessey have a very good relationship and I think they could make that fight happen.

I take your point about Witter, but Hatton and Calzaghe turned pro in their teens and had plenty of time to have those "learning" kind of fights and still win their world titles at 25/26. Froch is a different animal, I don't think he even turned pro until about 25 and he's 30 now and hasn't even had a shot yet. In that position, you need to get a bit more of a move on.

Thats my point - regardless of age. Too many of our fighters are being held back for whatever reason from 'superfights', Hatton 38 fights, Calzaghe 39 fights, Witter ? fights etc.

Froch is ready after 22 fights, get him in there. This should also apply to whoever young prospects we have - as soon as they are ready get them in, instead of taking 'keep busy' six rounders for the sake of it!

If Warren wasn't involved in boxing, the likes of Witter, Hatton, Froch, Calzaghe etc would all have duked it out by now.

He is very bad for British boxing IMO.

Despite Joe's talents, he will have a LOT of questions hanging over him if he retires and the less than amazing stateside fight will only fuel the fire.

GYM's promoter just said that if Pascal wins his next fight against Zuniga on June 6, he could climb up the #2 spot in the WBC ratings. So, yes a Froch-Pascal fight for a vacant WBC title this Fall could be in the mix especially that GYM and Hennessy have a very good relationship.
