Froch on Team GB prospects CARL FROCH is perfectly placed to give SunSport readers the lowdown on Team GBs boxers. The IBF super-middleweight champ trains in the same gym as our hopefuls, at the Institute of Sport in Sheffield. In fact not only has The Cobra sparred with many of the 10-strong team but he also shares the same trainer in former world title contender Rob McCracken. Here, Froch gives his take on our prospects and there are a few gold medals in store. SAVANNAH MARSHALL (middleweight) THE first British world champion on her 21st birthday, Savannahs head could be in the clouds. But shes too switched on and grounded for that and will add Olympic gold to her world title from China earlier this year. NICOLA ADAMS (flyweight) GOLD in last years European Championships ended a run of silvers for 29-year-old Nicola and, much like Savannah, its amazing what confidence can do for you. Faces a stiff test from Chinas Ren Can-Can but she has beaten her before and can do it again. JOSH TAYLOR (lightweight) PROUD Scot, the only one in the team, and a good young fighter. The 60kg division is always ultra-competitive so hell have to be at his very best to get in the medals. But this 21-year-old is certainly capable and his inclusion over Iain Weaver and Martin Ward shows how highly Rob McCracken rates him. ANTHONY OGOGO (middleweight) CHARISMATIC young man outside the ring and a more than handy fighter in it. Anthony, 23, uses his skills well and is a good counter-puncher. He has very fast hands and a very good workrate and won silver at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. A great bet to go one better now. ANTHONY JOSHUA (super-heavy) A BIG, strong lump. Most super-heavyweights can punch but Anthony, 22, is a spiteful puncher and very accurate too, which is a lethal combination. He is a really big hitter, tenacious and clearly means business in the ring. In short, he has got gold written all over him. NATASHA JONAS (lightweight) THE first girl to qualify, 28-year-old Natasha has moved down to lightweight to fight in the Games and the Liverpool southpaw has coped well with the weight change. She should now be rewarded for her hard work with the top prize. FRED EVANS (welterweight) A VERY talented southpaw counter-puncher. I did a lot of sparring with Fred, 21, for the Lucian Bute fight and he really sharpened me up. Very difficult to lay a glove on and has plenty of snap in attack. TOM STALKER (light-welterweight) THE team captain and the right man to lead by example, 28-year-old Tom is another gold medal shout. Hes the best in the world and should have too much for the opposition. Hes tall, has fast hands and is good at distance. A really talented all-round good boxer. ANDREW SELBY (flyweight) ANDREW, 23, has a great chance of winning gold. He beat Kal Yafai very handily in their box-off for a place and Kal is a great fighter, so that shows how good Andrew is. His feet are firmly on the ground too so the build-up and expectations wont phase him. LUKE CAMPBELL (bantamweight) NORTHERN lad who is gunning for gold. Luke, 24, is very tall for his weight and has a rangy style. He is also very fast and has a real mental toughness too. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...-Team-GB-boxing-prospects-at-London-2012.html
