Cool and collected, despite the clock ticking, Froch walked down Taylor and crushed him. Taylor started the 12th so well, firing out the jab still - then he got caught and crumbled like a sandcastle. Along with Arthur Abraham and Kelly Pavlik he's up there at the top now. He sensed it before anyone else watching could tell. This content is protected
Nah, there were plenty of oppourtunities to finish off Pascal and he couldnt. and no...Pascal doesnt have an iron chin
He's a quality finisher- you don't get that kind of KO ratio without being one, and the way he ended the Taylor fight was a great thing to show young fighters of how to get a guy out of there the right way (Ironically enough, Taylor-Pavlik I was another great example of how to properly break down a vulnerable opponent.) Also like Taylor-Pavlik I, we saw an example by Jermain of how not to finish. Froch stalked him, showed good punch variety and patience, didn't get too excited or too passive, and as such, was able to pick him apart for the stoppage win. When Taylor had Froch hurt, I think Jermain was thinking too much of the Pavlik KD where he overspent himself and wound up going too far the OTHER way, allowing Froch to recover.
Cant remember many of his other KOs but the way he finished Taylor he was like a ruthless cold blooded predator
Taylor getting finished in that Fashion seemed to be more a product of his lack of stamina than Froch's finishing abilities ..... Froch is a beast though, who can definitely wear people down... but now it has been shown that he can be outboxed and can be hurt... I don't know if he can handle someone like Bute or Kessler .
Any knockout is a product of the losers weaknesses and the winner's ability to exploit those weaknesses. Taylor has been in plenty of 12 round fights against world class fighters where he didn't get knocked out.
24 rounds with Hopkins!!!! Carl has always been ruthless finisher. He's never failed to stop an opponent who he has hurt. Froch would crush Lucian Bute, believe me
HOpkins does not put on nearly the type of pressure that someone like Froch or Pavlik puts on.... The blueprint to beat Taylor is simple ..... Put sustained pressure on him and throw plenty of straight rights and he'll gas .. Pavlik was able to outpoint Taylor and finish him, and in their second fight he outpointed Taylor and got close to stopping him in the 11th. Froch is a big, powerful guy... but his skills are crude... he couldn't win rounds against a guy who was throwing 30 punches a round and not doing anything for the first 2 minutes. Bute and Kessler are both better boxers than taylor and both pack a more powerful punch... Although I would want Froch to win because I like his style the most, I don't think he could beat Bute or Kessler... even Andrade would give him fits.
That's because pascal has an iron chin. The amount of times he wobbled and stayed up was very impressive and he took some big KO punches in there.
