Froch or khan? Who is the better of the two

Many experts in the business rate a World Amateur medal as a more difficult achievement than an Olympic medal. Audley got an Olympic gold ffs but he was a **** pro. Froch definitely has heart but that certainly isn't it. He also has at the very least a decent chin and power. He has a good jab. He counter-punches well. Many people have rated JTs performance in the Froch fight as a career best and saying Froch got a gift decision against Pascal is a laughable description of what was a decisive win. Considering Froch has remained undefeated in 26 pro fights, including his last three fights which has been described as "the best hat-trick" in British boxing history, it is naive to suggest he has no boxing skills and this achievement is solely down to luck.

I`m no Froch fan or Khan fan believe me but Froch has learned his boxing the hard long way.

 

On a point of information, Froch/Pascal was a close fight that could have gone either way; watching it live I had it for Froch, since I've scored it a draw among other things. It certainly wasn't "decisive".

Some of the points you make are good, others frankly bizarre. Froch does have a good jab when he uses it; the problem is that he doesn't! Apart from the middle rounds of the Pascal fight, I have never seen Froch use the jab meaningfully and effectively. He didn't need to do it on the domestic level because his opponents were far from stellar - that's understandable. However, he hasn't used at the top level much either. If it is a weapon, it's a neglected one, but I'll concede on that score. But Froch "counter-punches well"? Come on. We both know what Froch's style is, and it's a pretty old-fashioned, run-of-the-mill brawling one. He doesn't counter-punch. He doesn't have the speed, positioning, punch accuracy or reflexes to counter-punch against the top players. Comparing Froch's to the counter-punching abilities of other fighters around the same area (Hopkins, Kessler etc.) is just insulting to them.

And that being the best version of Jermain Taylor? Please; what fight were you watchng?! Taylor gassed early, looked sluggish from the outset and his jab was shot-to-****. Compared to the Taylor of the first Hopkins fight and second Pavlik fight, who was working consistently down the stretch, moving well and counter-punching instinctively, he was nothing other than well on the way to being washed-up.

I'm not faulting Froch's guts, his ability to create exciting fights or his willigness to take on the best. Those are three great assets that, in many cases, I would prefer above boxing skills and athleticism; and backing your fighter on those grounds is absolutely justified and credible. But an honest assessment of the man would make it obvious that he is far from elite in terms of ability and that his performances at the top level have been decidedly unconvincing.

I have a real dislike for both fighters but I would say Khan has more natural ability whilst Froch is the tougher.

 

I like Khan better.
I wanna see if the Cobra has what it takes to get through Kessler. Something tells me Kessler ko's him.

 

tough pick since they both lack crucial elements of a fighter but exceed in other areas but.....i'd say Khan has more potential to accomplish more in the sport, so he's my pick

Hypothetically speaking, I see Khan Outboxing Froch to a lopsided 12 round decision, expecially with Freddie Roach in his corner.

 

:good Khan a very talented fighter. Someone questions his chin, but he seems willing to fight the best like Froch. Froch not a talented fighter, but is tough ass a nail. If Khan have this kind of toughness, Khan should go all the way...

 

Froch by an absolote country mile. It's amazing the abuse both fighters get on these boards.
