Froch or khan? Who is the better of the two

Froch, no question. At least he can take a punch.

 

i think its important to take age into consideration froch is at the endof his and khan is at the start of his, yet khan and froch have achieved the same interms of how many world titles they won. froch's level of competition is impressive but he is a **** boxer but i like his come forward style....khan has a long long time left especially with his style and he is extremely skilled i think he will achieve alot.

Khan is a better person and a better boxer and has more potential yet froch is on a roll but soon that will come to an end...besides at this stage khan doesnt need to fight the other titlest he is still very young and green but soon in a yr or 2 he will then we will see and the haters will shut up

 

At 22 he took on Barerra..... a proven champ !

Yeah they should of put Khan in with Floyd Mayweather at his young age of 22, and you are right, Khan held two week talks himself with Sky begging them to put him on PPV otherwise he would give up the the sport.

I cant believe that Froch at the tender young age of 32 is taking on such big challenges, i mean he should of waited and developed a bit more before the super 6 for at least 3 or 4 more years, he is still so young.

 

Amir Khan no question. Obviously both have their own strengths and flaws, but people keep forgetting the age difference. To even be comparing a 22 year old with a 31 year old, says it all doesn't it?

 

Froch's amateur pedigree is respectable, but yes: it is average compared to fighters around him (Kessler went 44-3 as an amateur; Pavlik won three national titles at Welterweight, including the Golden Gloves tournament when he was barely 16). In any case, the point of the thread is to compare Khan and Froch, and an Olympic silver is a cut above anything Froch achieved.

When I scored Froch/Pascal live I had Froch winning it; I've scored it since and had it even or Froch taking a razor-thin decision. I'm happy to post my scorecard and give you my reasoning with you if that causes upset. It definitely wasn't a robbery, but I wouldn't have complained if Pascal had got it; and scores of 118-110 were, without a doubt, laughable. The bottom line is that it was far from a decisive victory.

This isn't a subjective call. I hate Khan and Froch about the same.

 

I'm not saying Khan has to be pushing for massive fights at this stage (though he certainly shouldn't be pushing for another fight with someone like Michael "born on the back of a car seat" Gomez, either). But, whether you like or dislike him, charging £15 a pop for the calibre of fights he's producing is absolutely ludicrous. If Khan cared about the hype machine that got him where he is now - because I doubt he would have got anywhere near a world title without the cash that he generates - he'd be back on the BBC giving the fans a show for free. The only way he can justify fighting on PPV would be by fighting a massive name. Obviously, he doesn't; that's why he jumped on the Sky bandwagon to fight the now-exposed slugger Breids Prescott (and got stopped in under a minute; how's that for Karma?). He's one of the reasons there's **** all boxing shown in the UK.

I may dislike Froch intensely, but at least he doesn't stab the fans in the back and justifies his status by fighting the best.

 

I had Froch about 4 rounds up against Pascal so I would call it decisive. The scorecards were certainly decisive and at the end of the day those are what counts. As a point of information, Froch went 88-8 as an amateur which is hardly a shoddy record by any comparison.

 

Not shoddy, but nothing amazing either (especially considering he had a while to amass an amateur record, in contrast to the other recent belt-holders from 160-175 who turned pro quickly).

I've always maintained that Froch has the raw assets to make a great fighter. Unfortunately, his stupid and reckless habits are far too deeply ingrained for him to become great. There are some flashes of ability when he decides to use his jab, for example. Overall, though, it's way too late.

And, by the way, 118-110 for Froch was a laughable scorecard. If any judge honestly thinks that Froch lost no more than two rounds in that fight they should be locked up. Pascal clearly dominated from 2-6 at the very least.

 

Spot on that man.Khan is a yet another Frank Warren hyped up fraud IMO.If and when he finally gets in with a puncher there will be more shattered glass on the canvas than on a Liverpool carpark!

Exactly. Amir Khan doesn't decide whether he wants to go on PPV or not. Thats not his job. Cmon people, use logic. That's just as bad as people who hate Amir Khan solely because got fame and fortune to early.
