watch pavliks last 4 fights, he looks awful.

Jab and right hand both lack real authority which were always his main weapons and he's wide open for the right hand. He showed against BHOP and Martinez he struggles with movement and while Carl is neither of them two he can do enuff to stop Kelly getting into a groove.

Taylor was a good boxer with stamina issues -It was thought that Taylor would be able to outbox Froch for UD - that happend for 6 rounds before Froch took over the fight.

Johnson was alway seen as tuff but beatable - id have this version of Kelly in the same bracket. Id consider the current Pavlik a massive underdog. If hes going the distance and agains guys with 16 pro fights something is missing.

Pavlik weighed 182lbs on the night of his last fight. I can see him lasting the 12.

Exactly my thoughts when I saw the thread title. A nice name to pad the resume out and Froch deserves a 'soft' fight. My only concern is that Froch has been the underdog or evens at most in all his last 7-8 fights so I hope he can motivate himself for a fight where he'd be the heavy favourite.

That's what I thought, but Showtime didn't want to televise his fight with Bute, and apparently neither did HBO.

Also did'nt Eddie Hearn mention about having Brook on the undercard of Froch next fight, and if US are interested cause of Pavlik be good for Brook also to get the exposure

As long as Kelly doubles the goddamn jab he may make it competitive.

I think this is a better fight than Bute II.

Despite the rematch clause, I'd imagine it's rare for fighters who've been dominated and knocked the **** out to take up these options.

It's not as if he was iced in a single shot, ala Lewis/Rahman I.

There's no suggestion from their previous form that Bute is actually better than him, other than their respective performances against Glen Johnson.

  11. This would a fantastic fight. No matter how duff Pavlik has been lately, he would be right up for this. Froch would win but it would be a war. I hope we see this fight, it has shoot-out written all over it.

Pavlik has only lost to awkward fighters in Hopkins and Martinez, Froch doesn't have a huge punch output...

Pavlik isn't a gimme no matter what state he is in.
