Not best of times for this to be said but something of nothing really, thought i'd post it anyways. http://www1.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/7533287/Froch-prolonged-fights-
Yeah its on the BBC as well, the headline doesn't even mention Froch by name, just says 'Boxer' Thought he'd be more of a household name by now
Silly time to come out and say this Mr Froch. Infact, it's a silly thing to admit full stop. If he is good enough to predict a round, so be it. But be smug about it in private. If I had a lot of money on the 4th, I'd be seriously pissed off. I'm not a fan of this altogether if I'm honest. If a guy is hurt, finish him. This is boxing after all, and one shot caught clean and it can lay you out. You end up losing a fight you was in total control of for the sake of a bet. I can understand if boxers want to get rounds in the bank. But this is silly at best, and a betting scam/ fraud at worst.
My opinion on it is that it's a stupid thing to do, boxing isn't sorta sport where you should hang around and make things longer and harder for yourself. Why he's come out with i do not know, as you lads rightly say keep it shut!.
its now the most read article on the BBC News website Mike Costello basically said it was old news, he spoke about it in his book, but its not a good thing when other punters dont think a fight is, while not bent, certainly not straight. Compounded by the 'Night of the Long Knives 2' in Munich
Silly thing to admit to really. If a footballer said I missed the penalty at 2-0 in the 89th min on purpose because my mates had a bet on under 2.5 goals people would not be happy. atsch
I don't really see a problem with it, if you're good enough to fulfill your predictions then so what, on the otherhand if you take a dive in a certain round so people can benefit from betting then that is sore!
trying to get noticed again after the loss to ward the controversy of khan-peterson and of course this weekend hes no longer on the radar.
