First Herning has built a big venue spot with a new soccer stadium, and a indoor venue with 6.000 seats. Kesslers fight against Perdomo was at the same spot (i know its not the same but still). The biggest indoor venue in Copenhagen is Forum where there is only room for 5.500 seats, and that is an old building.

Second: Denmark has 2 big international airports. One is Kastrup that is in Cph and the other one is Billund, where its only 50 kilometers from Herning. Where as its only 20 something km from the airport in cph to "Forum". So the distance from the airport is not a real problem.

Obviously Herning cost a lot less because it is in a smaller town and for a lower price they get a bit bigger venue and new facilities.

I hope it makes a bit more sense for some :)

One other thing. Herning is the center between the second, third, fourth and fifth largest cities in Denmark, so people would still come there.

And Kessler is from Cph himself so obviously he would love to fight there personally, but they see Herning as a better deal

Parken can stage indoor events and is substantially bigger, no?

Yeah but the stadium costs are a lot bigger than the indoor arenas. There is also Brondby Stadium that holds 28.000 seats but than there is less money to go around.

Also I also liked how intense it was against Perdomo with only 6000 seats, but it sounded like a lot more.

This is some BS. How big of a nightmare was it for Dirrell fans to travel to the UK? I saw like 6 people cheering Dirrell there. Kessler shouldn't budge. kessler needs this win and Froch is just scared.

    Ok, but the point is.....

.....Where would you rather see that?

    Copenhagen? Massive Stadium?

It's a poor con move to place a fight in a difficult to reach area, so only Dan's show up, and noone else. This fight should be at least reachable by the average international traveller, not placed in a volcano on Iceland reachable only by 3 weeks foot march.

So, I think Froch is right here. They could place in anywhere in Denmark to be reached in a normal way, Copenhagen, Malmoe, Goeteborg, Arhus. But not in some remote place you need to rent a car for and drive 3 hours.

BTW, no idea if Froch pulled the same move fighting in Nottingham. If that was equally hard to move there, it should be noted against him.

As I mentioned above. Herning is only 50 km from the nearest airport. So that isn't exactly a huge problem.

Herning is not more difficult to reach than Copenhagen and has ample hotel facilities. The only difference is the size of the venues.

    End of...

There is one pretty blindingly obvious difference.

    Dirrell was the Challenger

    Froch is the WBC Champion

Dirrell had six people in nottingham because they got a coach there. On the way they decided to watch a DVD of his pro career so far. They slipped into a deep sleep only to wake and cry 'gift decision' half hour after the fight!

Read previous post my man. There is nothing to discuss. Only difference is the size of the venues...
