From the site where boxing is confidential, Showtime approved the fight for that date.

It says Dibella only started looking for other opponents when Froch said he couldn't fight until April at the earliest.

Taylor's camp has been saying they wanted to fight in March ever since his victory over Lacy... I guess they really aren't playing around.

Showtime would be happy to stage Kessler vs. Taylor, but I guess suddenly Taylor would suffer an injury or something like that.

Well from the site where boxing is the scene Froch denies all this, stating that it is a fabrication by Michael Marley and Lou Dibella and that purse bids have been called for Froch v Taylor and he will be ready to defend within 90 days of the purse bids.

Considering Marley is full of **** I'm going to side with Froch on this, I doubt he's going to pull out of purse bids(which he obviously would do if injured).

90 days from the purse bid (this Friday) is mid April... only a couple weeks after the 3/28 date rumored approved by Showtime.

And if the fight goes to purse bids, Taylor's going elsewhere. There's no way he accepts the 30% share he'd get as the challenger, to fight in the UK most likely.

This means nothing, the "Froch is lying" etc. Froch has made clear he can't fight till April.

So Taylor goes for the March date on Showtime v Froch's leftovers.

Why not wait another month, or however long it takes, and just fight the champ.

Taylor's paid WBC sanctioning fees for the Lacy fight - it is down on record as an offiical elim - so what is the problem going for the title bout? He's paid money so he can have this opportunity.

I fail to see what Marley has proven. And why did the man make up that Froch couldn't fight till June?

Just go to the purse bids, both sides, so both sides can work out their differences.

Maybe they're both full of ****. If Froch's ribs were aching so much, it's obvious he didn't trained yet. That leaves only 2 months to prepare for a fight against Taylor. Mmm. Maybe Froch just want Taylor to sign and plans to postpone later, as another poster said earlier.

Does Taylor HAVE to fight end of March, just cos there's a TV date? If he does, then that would delay his challenge to Froch several more months.

The date can be played both ways... impossible to ask why Taylor can't wait a few more weeks for the fight when you could just as easily point to the fact that Froch already stepped into the ring once with his bruised ribs, and by the end of March will have had almost 4 months to recover. He's already boasted about being back in the gym. If he's the tough ******* he says he is, why not just take the earlier date? He needs this fight more than Taylor does, IMO.

    See, it works both ways.

I agree about trusting Marley as a source, especially after saying Froch wouldn't be ready until June, which he appears to be recanting.

I hope these guys work something out before it goes to purse bid...

I would think Froch wants this fight badly. It gets him the recognition that Joe Calzaghe didn't get till 8 years as a world champion. Team Froch want the fight, but do Team Taylor?

It's guys like Inkin and Taylor who have been doing the postponing on Froch. In fact, major parts of his career have been marred by this. His British title fights with Tony Dodson and Brian Magee were off something like twice due to injuries/accidents of the opponents, before they happened.

Last thing Froch needs is any more career delays. Would be a disaster.

I'd like to see Hennessy and DiBella go to purse bids and sort it out the old fashioned way. Fvck the TV date; another one will come up.

I know his camp wants to keep him busy after his inactivity last year.

Right now it seems like mostly bull**** from both sides and none of it's making sense to me.

I just want them to work it out and get it on... in the ring.
