I cant see this fight being made because I've got a feeling that Froch might end up picking up a training injury or something.

If his ribs have been screwed up then I wouldn't advise fighting Taylor lol

    Interesting times...

Surley froch gets some sort of say seeing as though HE IS THE CHAMPION. If he wants to delay the fight by couple weeks then what the big trouble????

    All as expected.

When you're planning on pulling a blatant duck, as Taylor has been manaeouvering to do with this fight for the best part of nine months now, it's very important to spin a PR message so your fanbase numpties won't call you on it.

Think Dawson v Diaconu, where all the spin was that Dawson was taking a bigger money fight instead. How many people noticed that Dawson was paid significantly less to fight Tarver than he turned down for Diaconu, and had to make the contractual concession of agreeing to fight Tarver twice!?

Taylor wants to make it seem like he actually made a good faith effort to put on the fight. He probably doesn't want it to go to purse bids though, as then he would have to pull out of a solid offer and go two for two on ducking British fighters after a purse bid loss.

Froch has already slated Marleys article as complete fabrication,he thinks it's been put forward by Taylors camp as a way out.....

I'm no doctor, but this shouldn't be hard to figure out. Froch admits his ribs were broken at the time of his last fight. He says BEFORE, but that aside, they were at least re-injured. He said he got hit there. Maybe the Taylor team physician has told them his guess on when Froch can fight again. Froch may just be trying to get the fight signed and then delay it later. I wouldn't believe Marely, but would you really put much more faith in what Froch is saying. The man says an awful lot.

If Froch has already said he can't fight till Apr, then Taylor and DiBella have gone without Froch, if they ever intended to fight him in the first place. Taking the TV money.

Marley suggested that Froch was out till June, which is incorrect; this would hint that there'd been some extra injury.

Showtime (and HBO as well) should not be backing the wrong fights. The only sensible thing to do is make Froch-Taylor when there is another available date.

Otherwise, Taylor will have a hard fight with Pascal, then he'll need a rest (provded he wins) and everything just ends up taking longer.

While Pascal is not an easy fight, it is vs a WBC top 5 fighter, to remain a WBC contender. Don't be a slave to the TV dates IF you want the title shot. There's no need to fight a contender who lost to Froch for the title, when you can have a straight shot.

Ribs take a while to heal fully. He admits he was hurt when hit there. We don't know if they were broken before or during the fight, but still, 3 months recovery time isn't out of the question. And that is before he can train.

Carl Froch spoke to Setanta Sports in England, and has told them he is outraged by rumours that he wont be ready for a fight against Taylor, he has called Taylor out and its up to Taylor to reply. Im personally from Carls hometown of Nottingham so you might think im biased, but actually check the article out on Setanta Sports and see what he has to say. Carl specifically says in the article that he is ready for Jermain Taylor at any time or any place, does this look like the signs of a man looking to duck a pretty much mandatory contender for his WBC Title? so no, not Carl 'Fraud' Froch. Not to mention the fact that i recently read about a ruling the WBC has on how long the fight has to be fought after the purse bids have been accepted, something like 90 days. If Carl wasnt so sure he could make that defense within three months, he wouldn't even be promoting himself for it now.
