Because anyone who fights Pavlik twice and Hopkins twice is a big ducker.

God **** damn this place is dumb.

We already read or listened to this interview. But there is also the info that Froch has refused the March 28th date. And Froch didn't talk about his ribs. If I was one of his fans, I'd be worried if he fought in March.

Anyay, Carl promoting himself doesn't prove he's in condition to fight in March. He's not deciding when the purse bid is made. The WBC does. If he says he's injured, of course he will have an extension. The end of March is in 10 weeks only. Already a little short to prepare for a championship bout. But if the purse bid occurs, he would have until mid-April to fight. That's sounds more reasonable.

Since it is your first post, I'll be kind. All sorts of delay tactics. 90 days isn't 'set in stone'. Ever have broken ribs? I have. I'd be surprised if he was cleared to do full training in less than three months.

yes, but the WBC doesnt decide on whether they accept purse bids based on rumours one of the fighters might not be 100%

Ribs take a while to heal. That is even before he can train.

I didnt realize the 90 days wasn't set in stone, thanks for updating me on that ruling. as for the rest of your post, yes i have had cracked ribs, and i cant imagine what it must have been like going 12 gruelling rounds with Jean Pascal that night, i was there, and i tell you it was no fight for a couple of wimps who couldn't punch, both those guys could bang. My point was that the delaying tactics surely cant be stretched out TOO much further than 90 days. Maybe Froch is delaying, but definitely not ducking.

forch is the champion not taylor sowhy the **** is taylor coming up with when they should fight, everyone knows forch aint been able to train yet so anything other than an april date is not a serious offer.

frochs ribs and hand were broken in sparring a week before the pascal fight, he still took the fight and won.

he is now back in early stages of training ready to fight within 90 days (they would have until April 18th to fight on a saturday). he said in an interview with setanta that hes fit an ready to fight in march but reckon it will be april.

I'm not saying Froch is ducking. Indeed, he will do just about anything to get this fight. That is the point. Once the contract is signed, all he has to do is say he re-injured himself in training and the fight is delayed. My guess is that is what Taylor's people are expecting based on what their doctors tell them. If his ribs were cracked PRIOR to that fight, it was very stupid for his doctors to allow the fight to go on.

He fought Hopkins when Hopkins was the man and he was nobody, nothing to lose.
He fought Pavlik because he underestimated him.

This is his last chance his next lose will finish the big money in his career,he has to be managed carefully.

Taylor has fought for upwards of $3 million that I know of. What was Froch's biggest purse. Froch wants Taylor for a payday. Taylor is not going to oblige him. If this goes to bid, the fight is off. We all expect that.

Pavlik was his mandatory. If it goes to bid, there won't be big money and he won't take the fight.

So what your saying is if it goes to purse bid, punters will lose interest and not want to pay to watch this fight?.There is still the same ammount of money to be made for the winning promotor.
