He is right. Calzaghe pissed his career away fighting bums. His only significant wins are a cakewalk against a shot Jones and an Ugly gift decision against Hopkins.

as far as the poll goes its obviously Calzaghe, because that was his aim from the moment he won the title, to build a legacy at SMW.

He didnt actually feel or realise at the time that he could have built a better legacy by taking more risks and losing a few fights. I wish he had, then the guys over in the USA wouldnt laugh at him so often and would at least respect him in the way they respect Froch for being a man. Such is the price of protecting your record.

Back in 2002/03 Hopkins chose not to fight Joe Calzaghe.

This is an irrefutable fact that has to be accepted.

    Of course.

You were banging on about how 'styles make fights', then you compared Carl Froch to Hopkins, RJJ, Sakio Bika and others. Do you not see the contradiction there?

You're going round and round in circles, to the point where you've contradicted and compromised your own argument. :deal

You're clearly on ***** street on right now, and are acting on pure instinct by just repeating yourself over and over again, you've got nothing left to offer!

Want some more points about why Calzaghe would dominate Froch? Why not stop gargling Froch's balls for a moment and take a look -

We all know Calzaghe didn’t hit as hard as Froch does, but then, Froch doesn’t move and punch half as quick as Calzaghe, and Froch could not come into that fight and fight like he did against Abraham. Froch has always maintained that he would walk Calzaghe down, catch him on the ropes and knock him out, I completely disagree with this comment. Calzaghe had great lateral movement, and used angles like no fighter Froch has faced.

Calzaghe would be the one dancing around, creating angles and landing a large number of shots, out-landing Froch throughout the fight. He can get off quicker, Froch could always stay on his toe’s like he proved he could do against Abraham but Calzaghe’s style would bring out the brawler in him, lets face it, Froch would not out box Calzaghe.

Calzaghe was a flurry fighter at times who overwhelmed people in a way that an orthodox fighter never would have gotten away with because he was able to come at them from that awkward southpaw stance that negates an othodox fighter’s jab and cross.

Do you see what I did there? I actually presented some new points to the argument, instead of just repeating myself over and over again like a broken record.

It doesn't take long to pick your post apart, because you're just repeating the same rubbish over and over again, which I already dealt with.

    You just got sonned :rofl

yeah but Hopkins did fight him, and wanted to again - this is not a debate - it happened in reality in this universe. So its not a case of Hopkins ducking Cal.

Bernard just wanted a route of fights with more buck per bang. Beating Calzaghe wouldnt give him anything to bargain with in 2002/03, but it certainly paid well later.

I voted Froch because I could!

in reality it will not take much to surpass Calslappy. WHo defended the worthless WBO belt for most of his career, stayed home and fought milkmen and postal workers as one person put it, and not to mention that the SMW division never was worth **** at the time

    who mentioned ducking?

mind you, hard to duck when you are defending a mediocre belt, I'll give you that.

Personally I think he made some semi decent opponents, some really crap ones and 2 decent ones up to Lacy, which is about right for a minor title.

of course its reality, hopkins ducked a career high payday to fight calzaghe in 2002 and how the **** would he know the opportunity would arise ever again 6 years later.

you mocked calzaghe for taking the easy option to fight bhop in 2008 earlier in this thread, when its clear bhop took the easy option in 2002.

your accusing calzaghe of ducking, not fighting abroad, and not taking risks when he clearly tried to do that with bhop, where as you are sweeping over hopkins ducking a career high payday for a risky fight in his own country. the word hypocrite springs to mind - 'ignorant hypocrite'.
