They've always said they would go out of 160 for a big money fight, which this is. Why are people so ****ing obtuse when it comes to this stuff. I don't understand. And queue a response about Ward...
It is pretty weird how big of a 180 Hearn and Froch have done on Golovkin. Just last year Hearn shot G down as a potential opponent, and Froch has never really shown much desire to fight him, and now things look on their way to actually happening. Its not like Froch needs this fight either, its literally just a cherry on top at this point, which makes it more weird. Ward fight isn't happening, Jr just lost, hes not interested in Degale/Dirrel winner or fighting Hopkins, and hes not moving up (funny how he gets a total pass for that *as he should* from the boxing world) which leaves Golovkin. But he could just as easily not fight again. Despite what he says he must still have a strong itch to fight. Doing a 180 on Golovkin in the span of a year is just odd. Only way it makes sense really is if they obviously knew of G's somewhat desperate situation to land a quality opponent and blew up their dismissal talk early to help gain a bit of leverage come negotiations. Idk...
Froch thinks GGG is a little man moving up and wont carry the power up. I guess we will find out when he gets hit.....probably in round 1.
I see this as a close fight, will be competitive.... not sure who Id pick yet until I see them face to face and then their training camps, but am leaning slightly towards Golovkins accuracy and punch placement to do it for him... a Froch win surely wouldn't be suprising however.
I think anyone expecting it to be one sided either way, is dead wrong. As a side note, Froch takes over a year off and comes back for GGG Ward takes a over a year off and comes back for Paul Smith. atsch and it's Froch who don't want fight anyone right Ward fans?
Ah, so this is about money and not the best fighting the best or legacy or none of that other cliché BS that people use to justify hating on fighters. For that matter, Froch is big money in the UK but Ward is big money in the US. The only difference is that Ward will knock his ass out and he has a good chance of beating Froch. Now, if you can't understand that, you truly are an obtuse individual.
He can't force the chicken Cotto to fight him Froch would be a big win. Maybe he could get back to 160 afterward
Triple G is a very winnable fight for Froch even after taking a year or so off, plus it's big money. Also there is a chance that GGG can pull off the win and that along with the money is the carrot for him. GGG is willing to fight Froch but not Ward because regardless of what people say, big money can be made from a fight with Ward also but the chance of a win by GGG is virtually non existence. He can lose to Froch and still make money over here but when Ward beats his ass it will be a total defeat and he will lose his aura of invincibility and the guys that were hesitant to fight him will be all over his ass.
My guess would be that Froch has seen something from the last 2 fights with Murray and Monroe that lead him to believe this is a very winnable fight.
